This morning we enjoyed a Sharing Sunday service, where everyone has an opportunity to share a hymn, poem, prayer, story etc - we all participate in curating the service.

One of the songs Kim shared with us was Praise the Source Who Sang Creation, by one of our favourite hymnist, David Bjorlin. Check out the link below if you want to hear it again.

Mike also read a new version of the Creation story from Mariko Clark's The Book of Belonging - you can see more about that book here: https://www.thebookofbelonging.com/

These sunny days are perfect for getting out into the garden. Come see the green fingered team from Kaurihohore Church for some new flowers, shrubs, bromeliads, and indoor plants. Might even be some fresh garden produce for the early birds.

Today we celebrated Pentecost and Richard guided us through how the early church developed a picture of the post-Easter Jesus through the Gospels and Acts. He invited us to reflect on whether the post-Easter stories can be understood as the gospel writers trying to communicate an experience the early church members had in metaphorical terms because they had no better way of trying to make sense of their experience and to communicate it to others. Definitely food for thought!

We were also invited to reflect on how a rock can be a metaphor for a burden, a resource, and a foundation - which led us each contributing a rock to build a cairn as an artistic form of prayer.

All capped off with a delicious cake baked by Sylvia for morning tea, and continued fellowship at Cafe Narnia for our monthly church lunch!
