One year ago, St Andrew's Church and the Whanganui Korean Church made a promise — to become one body, to share one heart, and to dream one dream together. Today, a year on, we find ourselves closer to God and closer to one another.

The joy of unity in Christ is truly wonderful.

To everyone who has worked so hard and given so generously to make today possible — thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.

Today is a very special and joyful day.
Five precious souls confessed their faith before God and many witnesses, and were baptised.
The deep, welling joy and satisfaction in my heart — I believe it truly flows from the celebration in heaven.
Congratulations to all.

As a note, after the service, I went with Jill Clarke to visit Cathie Thomas. She was still in the ED and she is not doing very well. We conducted a simple baptism service right there at her bedside. I pray that she will recover soon and that the day will come when she can confess her faith before the whole congregation. Please keep her in your prayers.

[Fasting Day 7] Prayer for the Persecuted Church

We praise You, O God, the Prince of Peace. We look to You, who have broken down every dividing wall and reconciled us to the Father. In a world filled with constant conflict, division, and hostility, we praise You for working to bring peace and unity.

Lord, as it is written in Psalm 2, so many rise against Your Anointed One. They attack Your Church, the body of Christ. Many of our brothers and sisters suffer insults, humiliation, injustice, and even threats to their lives simply because they believe in and follow You. Lord, have mercy on them. Deliver them swiftly from danger and suffering. May the Holy Spirit comfort their hearts, and may You send Your angels to rescue them. Wherever they are, protect them and keep them safe. Turn their situations around, and reveal that You are the living God.

Yet we know well that the Christian faith has not only endured persecution but has flourished through it. Not only it survived but it revived through difficult times. Lord, help those who are persecuted not to forget Your promises. You have said, “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Grant them steadfast faith to hold firmly to this promise and to the hope of heaven. Even in suffering, may they not lose the peace and joy that come from You, and may they continue to live as Your faithful witnesses.

We also pray for those who persecute the Church. Help them to realize the weight of what they must one day answer for before the righteous Judge, and lead them to repentance. Just as You transformed the Apostle Paul, who once persecuted the Church, may they too be saved and become proclaimers of the gospel of peace.

Lord, bless the organisations that serve the persecuted Church. We lift up ministries such as Barnabas Aid and many others who labour faithfully in prayer and support. Raise up more intercessors, provide the necessary resources, and open pathways so that help may reach those in desperate need.

We remember places where persecution is severe—North Korea, Nigeria, India, China, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, and many more. Hear their cries, O Lord, and bring deliverance. Through their sacrifice and faith, may the season of Christ come upon those nations.

We also acknowledge that even in developed countries like New Zealand, there are different forms of persecution. Many face criticism, restriction, and even penalty for living and teaching according to Your Word. Strengthen them so they will not shrink back, but proclaim the gospel in season and out of season. May they stand on Your side and faithfully uphold the truth.

Tomorrow is Easter Sunday. As we remember the Lord who gave His life under intense suffering, help us not to forget His victory over death through the resurrection. Because You have already overcome the world, let us not be afraid. Instead, may we lift high the banner of victory and fill the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

[Fasting Day 6]
Prayer for Missionaries and Ministers.

Dear Heavenly Father, before we move on. Today we pause in reverence and awe as we remember the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. We come with humble hearts, overwhelmed by the greatness of Your love for us. We thank You for the sacrifice You made on the cross to bear the weight of our sins, to suffer in our place and to open the way for us to be reconcile to You. Thank You for the price You paid, such a sacrifice, to offer us the gift of eternal life. Holy Spirit, help us never to take for granted this huge gift of love on our behalf. Help us to be reminded of the cost of it all. Thank you that by Your wounds we are healed. We adore You, we love You our Redeemer Lord Jesus Christ. Have mercy on us.

PRAYER FOR MISSIONARIES.

Holy are You Lord, I come before You with grateful heart knowing that you can hear and answered our prayer. Your word says, lift up my eyes to the hills- where does my help comes from? My help comes from the Lord the Maker of heaven and earth. O Lord here my prayer. Lord I bring before You all those missionary workers overseas and locally. Lord I pray for Your protection and safety physical and well-being of all the missionaries and their family. Lord God I pray to protect them in their traveling either in air or on land, daily activities, and interactions with people in unfamiliar places and environments. I pray Lord God for guidance and wisdom, that they would have clarity and discernment in their decision-making, as they navigate culture differences, language barriers, and various challenges in their mission work. Father God I pray for Spiritual strength that they would remain steadfast in their faith, find strength in the midst of difficulties, and to fill with the Holy Spirit to effectively carry out their mission. I pray Father God that You would look upon them with favor, open doors for for all missionaries to connect with local communities, government officials, and influence individuals who can support their mission and provide for all their needs. I pray for deep and meaningful relationship between the missionary and the local people, that they may build trust, establish connections and share the love of God. Lord I pray that in their work that You might bring spiritual healing, bring hope, bring restoration, bring salvation and life transforming to so many people. Thank you for the work of missionary's Bless them abundantly.

PRAYER FOR MINISTERS AND PASTORS.

God Almighty I pray for Minister's and Pastor's locally and around the country. The apostle Paul, in his many letters to many churches, he repeatedly appeals to the saints of God to pray for him and his ministry. So if Paul needs prayer so as all Ministers and Pastor's. Father God I pray for spiritual protection against any discouragement, temptation, anxiety, pressure of leadership. Guard their mind and their heart. I pray that they will maintain a close personal relationship with You Father God, prioritizing Scripture study over the "fear of man" I pray that love, joy, peace, patience, guide their action. I pray for Wisdom in Preaching that they will be boldness in truth and preach the Word with conviction, not just for what people wants to hear. I pray for clear decision-making and a listening heart to govern God's people well. I pray for a clear vision of direction for the church's path. I pray for protection and safety of the family, health and peace of their spouse and children. I pray that they will truly rest from work, avoiding burnout and finding times of refreshment. Lord God strengthens their hearts against burnout and encourages them when they unappreciated. Heavenly Father I lift up Reverend Chris to You. Thank You for his dedication, I ask that You protect him and his family. Grant him a divine wisdom in every decision and a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit to preach Your Word with boldness and grace. Strengthen him in times of weariness, and keep him centered on You. Bless Chris, Jesse and the children. Thank You for hearing our prayers. In and through Jesus Holy Name. Amen.

[Fasting Day 5]
Prayer for New Zealand and Korea

Heavenly Father, we humbly come before you now to pray for our nations. We lift up our countries of New Zealand and Korea to you now and ask that you would uphold them with your righteous right hand.
Help us to acknowledge how blessed we are to live in this country. We may grumble that the price of fuel has dramatically increased lately, but that means that we actually have a car to drive around in.....many do not, they could only dream of owning a car. We are also able to live in homes, which can provide us comfort, security and privacy....many do not have that privilege. And in those homes, we can turn a tap, and out of that tap comes clean cold water, as much as we could drink. We could even run that water to fill a sink, we could wash that car, water our garden, sprinkle our lawn, or even fill a swimming pool if we wanted to. We can even have "hot" water to run a shower or bath. Many do not have that luxury, and would love to have just a glass full of that water. There are so many more examples of how we are blessed to live in this country, the list is endless.
God we thank you for the clear skies, where we can feel the warmth of the sun by day, and see the wondrous stars and galaxies by night. Thank you for the majestic mountains, the cool streams and rivers, the waterfalls and beautiful lakes. Thank you for our forests of mighty trees, and for our lush pastures and farms to raise livestock and to grow crops and vegetables. Thank you for our lovely beaches and bountiful seas.

Heavenly Father, we now pray for our governments, councils, ministries and governing bodies. Please lead and guide all of our leaders to make wise decisions based on your biblical truths. Keep them free from corruption, and lead them to serve the best interests of our people. Lord God we pray against the moral decline in this country as we follow the trends of the world. May we never accept as "normal", anything that we know contradicts your Word.

God we pray for those that might be caught up in any harmful relationships, or that may be suffering from any form of abuse. Lord, would you lift them out of those situations and strengthen and heal them both physically and psychologically, and we pray that they may come to know your unconditional love.

Lord God, please continue to protect both our countries from wars, famines, depression, oppression, corruption, and disasters.

Father, we pray for a revival in our countries, and that our nations would turn to you.

We pray for your blessings and favour for both New Zealand and Korea.

In Jesus name we pray,
Amen
