Today, April 21, 2025, at 7:35 a.m., Jorge Mario Bergoglio—known to the world as Pope Francis—breathed his last. And in that moment, the man who claimed to be the "Vicar of Christ" stood before the true Christ, not robed in white, but stripped of title, mitre, and human honour.

Death is no respecter of popes. It rips through all ecclesiastical garments and leaves only what is eternal. And for a man who represented one of the most powerful religious systems on earth—a system that dares to call itself the Church—his death is not merely an earthly event. It is a cosmic reminder: God is not mocked (Galatians 6:7).

Rome will canonize him. The world will remember his diplomacy, his interfaith outreach, his social reforms. He welcomed idolaters and atheists, blessed what God has cursed, and exalted human traditions above the Word of God. But Heaven does not weigh men by sentiment. It weighs them by truth. And the gospel Rome preaches is another gospel (Galatians 1:6–9)—a Christ + works gospel, where sacraments replace regeneration, tradition overshadows Scripture, and the Pope dares to sit in a place reserved only for Christ.

Let it be known: There is no such office as “Vicar of Christ.” That title belongs to the Holy Spirit alone (John 14:26). The Pope is not Peter’s successor, but the theological descendant of the Pharisees—those who sit in Moses' seat, binding heavy burdens on others while refusing to bear them themselves (Matthew 23:4).

We do not rejoice in death. But we tremble when a man who stood at the helm of a system that damns millions now stands before the God who judges without partiality. No papal ring will save him. No indulgence will deliver him.

Let the Church of Rome mourn. Let the world eulogize. But let those with eyes see: Another man who claimed the place of Christ has fallen into the hands of the Living God (Hebrews 10:31).

Let this be a clarion call: Popes die. But the Word of the Lord endures forever.

May this be a moment where we are reminded to preach the true gospel—salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone—not through the mass, not through Mary, not through indulgences or priestly absolution, but through the finished work of Jesus Christ, the only Mediator between God and man.

Flee Rome. Flee every gospel that adds to the cross. Run to Christ—the only Head of the Church, the only Priest, the only Redeemer.

Let us weep not for the man—but for the millions still trapped in a system that cannot save.

Pope Francis is dead.

But Christ lives.

Let him who has ears to hear, hear.
