! Sorry it's so long since we have posted anything on this page. This is to update you all on the latest from St Andrews Church and our ministry to young people.

We are so happy to announce that we have a new youth pastor working for us at St Andrews Whanganui! His name is Andrew Tims. He has moved to Whanganui with his wife Anna and their two daughters. And now that we have moved to COVID-19 Level 1, we can start up our youth groups again!!

So, we start again Friday night, June 12th for years 6-8. We meet at St Andrews, 42 Glasgow Street, Whanganui. 6:30pm till 8:00pm.

This week we will look at Strength and we ask How strong are you?

As usual, please bring along a gold coin donation to go towards our supper costs.

At some stage in the near future we will discontinue all our existing Face Book pages and just have one - I'll send you more info about that once we have set up the new page.

Looking forward to seeing you again on Friday night!

Jenny

Here is our group fundraising page if you would like to sponsor us online. Thank you and God bless!

I’m helping to raise money for the thousands of young lives that have been affected by conflict in South Sudan. Children just like me have had to flee for their lives across the border to Uganda, becoming refugees. The things they’ve seen and experienced are hard to imagine and even harder to fo...

Hey everyone! The 40 Hour Famine starts tomorrow at 8pm! We have some Inspire people doing the 20 Hour famine, which starts at 4pm Saturday. Good on you and we wish you many blessings as you make this sacrifice this weekend. I know that there are others who are unable to do the famine for some reason - that's all good. If you would still like to support the fundraising for South Sundanese refugees, please sponsor one of us who are doing the famine. Every dollar counts, so just let me know if you want to sponsor us.

Hello all. If you get the Midweek you may notice an article about me regarding the upcoming Repertory Pantomime that I'm involved with. I have been misquoted in it and I just want to clear the air before anyone gets offended. In the article, I am quoted as saying 'I basically parent these kids.' I never said that, nor would I ever. During the conversation, the writer and I were talking about the modern-day teacher, as I had mentioned that prior to becoming a youth pastor, I was a teacher. I said that in today's environment SOME teachers have to parent SOME students, as well as teach them. I wasn't referring to my youth work at all during this part of the interview. I wasn't even talking about myself. This is an unfortunate misquote and I apologize for it. Please be assured that I did not say it, I do not think it and I would in no way attempt to do it. All the youth and young people who I work with already have parents who are doing a great job.

Hello all. A reminder that we will be supporting this event tonight rather than having our usual programme at St Andrews. This combined youth service is at Rutherford Intermediate School and it starts at 6pm with games and a BBQ, with a service to follow at 7pm and we'll be all wrapped up at 9pm. There is a cost of $2 to cover the BBQ. Contact me, Chris, if you have any questions.

This Friday people. Another great opportunity for all the youth groups in the city to get together, play some games, eat some food, and worship God! Come along and bring a friend.

So stoked to be hanging with other awesome Youth Groups in Whangavagas this Fri for an epic night. Spoiler alert - we may have a muso or 2 from other Revo Yth in NZ for our worship experience. Check pic for details. ❤

Unfortunately no hydro slide tonight. It closes at 5.30pm. So just the entry fee of $3.50 will be needed. My brother and sister will be supervising. The kids know them because they've helped on Fridays before.

Hi. Inspire kicks off again tomorrow in a roundabout kind of way. Unfortunately I can't be there so we decided that we'll start the term at the Splash Centre at the earlier time of 6.00pm. I'll have a couple of volunteer adults to supervise but if you want to stay yourself that would be swell. The price is $3.50 (plus $3 extra if they want to go on the hydroslide.) The Splash Centre is open til 8pm but my volunteers are only available til 7.30pm, so if you're dropping your child off you'll need to pick them up by then.
