Sunday Sermon — Pst Saki

Ecclesiastes 3:1–14 | “A Time for Every Season”

God has appointed a time and purpose for every season of life. There will be seasons of joy and sorrow, planting and harvesting, beginnings and endings. Instead of trying to control every situation, we are called to trust God’s timing and sovereignty.

God is present and working in every season, even when life feels tiring, confusing, or unproductive. Scripture reminds us that “He has made everything beautiful in its time” (Ecclesiastes 3:11). What may not make sense today can still be part of God’s greater purpose.

Our response is to trust God, continue doing good, remain faithful, and be grateful for His daily blessings. Seasons will change, but God remains constant and His purposes endure.

Don’t allow a difficult season to weaken your faith. Trust God through every season, because He knows the timing, He knows the purpose, and He can make everything beautiful in His time. 🙏🏽

Matthew 16:15–19 | “Who Do You Say Jesus Is?”

Jesus’ question to Peter, “Who do you say that I am?”, challenges every believer to have a personal conviction about Christ. Our faith cannot be built solely on family traditions, culture, church attendance, or someone else’s testimony. There is a difference between knowing about Jesus and personally knowing Jesus.

Peter’s declaration that Jesus is the Christ came through divine revelation from the Father. Information may teach us facts about Jesus, but revelation brings us into a living relationship with Him and transforms our lives. As Paul declared, “I know whom I have believed” (2 Timothy 1:12).

Jesus then declared, “On this rock I will build My church.” Christ is the foundation and cornerstone of His Church, and believers are called to actively participate in His Kingdom work. Knowing Christ should move us from simply attending church to serving, sharing the Gospel, reaching our communities, and helping build His Church.

When we truly know who Jesus is, our revelation produces responsibility. Christ must remain at the centre of our lives, worship, relationships and ministry. We are His workmanship, called to carry the Gospel and fulfil our Kingdom responsibility.

“The glory of this house is going to be greater than the former house.”

1. Worth all our sacrifice — True worship means surrendering our whole lives to God, not simply attending church. Our time, energy, resources, relationships, and service become a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1; Hebrews 13:15–16).

2. Worth our submission — Greater glory requires a heart willing to submit to God and respect godly authority. Christ is our example: “Let Your will be done, not mine.” Submission reflects humility and obedience.

3. Worth serving in love — We serve because we love God. Christian freedom is an opportunity to serve others, and everything we do should be done wholeheartedly and in love (Galatians 5:13; Colossians 3:23–24).

The greater glory of the church is not built merely through bigger gatherings or greater activities, but through greater sacrifice, deeper submission, and wholehearted service in love. When God’s people surrender themselves, walk humbly in obedience, and serve one another with genuine love, the glory of God becomes visible through His house.

CMFI Wellington warmly welcomes back our Senior Pastor, Rev Malakai Meke, and Radini Maria Meke, following their trip to the USA and UK Conferences.

We thank God for His protection, strength, and travelling mercies over their journey. We look forward to hearing what God has placed upon their hearts and receiving from the Word this Sunday.

**Scripture: 1 Kings 19:1–18**

**Theme: God Is With You in Your Lowest Moments**

1. **God Sees You in Your Lowest Moment**

* Elijah reached his lowest point under the broom tree, but God did not abandon him.
* Instead, God sent an angel to strengthen and care for him.
* Never give up or throw in the towel—God is near to the brokenhearted.
* Even in the deepest waters, God promises to be with us. *(Isaiah 43:2)*

2. **God Gives You Strength**

* In our weakest moments, God gives us strength to endure and persevere.
* He restores and renews us so we can continue the journey.
* Our walk with God requires spiritual strength, and He gives power to the weak. *(Isaiah 40:29)*
* Through Christ, we can face every challenge. *(Philippians 4:13)*
* God gives us the grace we need to keep moving forward.

3. **God Has a Purpose for Your Life**

* God sent Elijah back because there was still an assignment for him to fulfil.
* God has a purpose and assignment for each of us. *(Jeremiah 29:11)*
* He places us in specific situations and places to help fulfil that purpose.
* God equips us with the capability, mindset, and resources needed to accomplish His plan.
* The God who began a good work in us will bring it to completion. *(Philippians 1:6)*
* We are God’s workmanship, created for a purpose. *(Ephesians 2:10)*

**Your lowest moment is not the end of your journey. God sees you, strengthens you, restores you, and reminds you that your life still has purpose. Keep holding on—God is not finished with you.**

Genesis 4:1–16 — Preparation & Restoration in God’s Presence
1. Preparation Is Important — Before Worship
Where is your priority?
What is your focus?
Make it a lifestyle to prepare your heart before coming into God’s presence. (Psalm 139:23–24)
Preparation means getting our hearts ready for God’s glory.
Your preparation determines your presentation.
God is more concerned with what is happening inside us than with outward appearances.
We prepare ourselves because God already loves us; preparation helps us develop a deeper, more intimate relationship with Him.
Guard your heart, because what is in our hearts shapes how we respond to God and others. (Proverbs 4:23)
“Come as you are” does not mean “stay as you are.” We come to God honestly and allow Him to transform us.

2. God Looks at the Heart
In Genesis 4, Cain and Abel both brought offerings, but God looked beyond the offering to the heart and attitude of the worshipper.
True worship is not simply about what we bring to God, but how and why we bring it.
We must examine our hearts and surrender our attitudes, motives, and desires to God.
When we allow jealousy, anger, or comparison to take control, they can lead us away from God’s purpose.

3. Restoration in His Presence
In God’s presence, we can be redirected.
His presence is where He changes and transforms us. (2 Corinthians 3:18)
God’s glory changes us.
He may not immediately change our circumstances, but He can change our perspective toward those circumstances.
In His presence, we are restored, renewed, and made new.
God’s correction is not rejection; it is an invitation to return to Him and allow Him to transform our hearts.
