It’s our annual Red Shield Appeal week which means you may see some of our friendly faces out and about in high vis around the Peninsula this week!

We want to say a massive thank you to everyone supporting our Red Shield Appeal efforts. To New World Miramar and Z Broadway for partnering with and hosting us during the week, to those giving time to collect for us, and to all those that generously donate to the appeal, give our team a friendly smile or say hello - thank you!

The funds raised during this appeal go directly to supporting The Salvation Army's frontline community work. Your generous giving allows our teams across Aotearoa to provide wraparound care that helps people rebuild their lives. From budgeting advice and addiction recovery to counselling and transitional housing, your support can give people a hand up and create lasting change.

Thank you for partnering with us to make a difference! We love this community!

Our friends at Newtown Salvation Army Worship & Community Centre are asking for a helping hand at the moment, so they can continue to help others. The team there provide an incredible service to the Newtown community but did you know that they are also our main Salvation Army foodbank (and other amazing wraparound services) for the wider southern and eastern suburbs - we love being able to connect people we engage with from around Te Motu Kairangi to their services as well. What a blessing to have such great neighbours in Newtown!

Check out their post if you are able to support the increasing need being experienced across southern and eastern suburbs. Thank you for your generosity and support!

Over the last few weeks, we have had to close our foodbank early because we are so low in kai

If you are able, please we would love donations of non-perishable food for our foodbank
Drop off can be made to:
* The Salvation Army, Newtown - 4 Normanby St, Newtown, between 9am and 3pm
* Woolworths New Zealand Karori
