St John's In The City Wellington

St John's In The City Wellington We are an inner city Presbyterian Church in Wellington that was founded in 1853. We have a 10am Sunday morning service.

We typically gather in the city for Sunday worship services at 10am, as a diverse bunch feeling forgiven and friendly. St John's gathers in prayer and fellowship to worship God in central Wellington. Through the power of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit we seek to care for and strengthen our members and help them to a growing relationship with God. In this way, just as God cares for us, we seek to

empower our members to share their talents, to meet the needs of those who come to us and those who we can reach out to in the community.

In a world where many feel lost, pressured, or alone, the Gospel message speaks deeply: we are more known than we realise, more loved than we imagine, and invited to belong—together—with our Good Shepherd.

Students, staff and families from Uttley House at Scots College will join us for worship, with students leading parts of our worship.

Our St J’s Kids and Youth will go out to their peer group part-way through the service.

After the service we will all share morning tea and coffee in the St John’s Centre/courtyard, followed by Souper Sunday.

If you can’t gather in the city, and you want to join the worship service via Zoom, here is the link to access the live-stream:

This King’s Birthday long weekend we celebrate TRINITY SUNDAY.

We experience God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—one God in loving relationship. God’s very nature is love, and we are drawn into that life—created, redeemed, and sustained by the Triune God.

Our St J’s Kids will go out to their peer group part-way through the service. And Youth will join in our worship for the whole service.
After the service we will all share morning tea and coffee in the St John’s Centre/courtyard.

This Sunday we are focusing on CONNECTION - connecting with people, connecting the past with the future, finding common threads that hold us together.

Students, staff and families from Fergusson House at Scots College will join us for worship, with students leading parts of our worship.
On Sunday morning you will hear the sound of bagpipes calling us to worship God.

Our St J’s Kids and Youth will go out to their peer groups part-way through the service.

After the service we will all share morning tea and coffee in the St John’s Centre/courtyard.

AND we have a BBQ for everyone in the courtyard, which gives the first opportunity for those who would like to make a koha to support our Indonesian Minister “intern” coming to visit St John’s this year. There will be more information coming about this exciting visit.
