As we prepare for Pentecost, Moderator Rt Rev Peter Dunn reflects on the Holy Spirit’s presence - not as something distant or theoretical, but as the Comforter who meets us in real experiences, wounds, healing, and worship.

From childhood questions to painful encounters and finally to restoration within the Presbyterian Church, the Moderator’s message describes how the Spirit comes gently and faithfully, transforming us into the likeness of Christ.

The Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand is seeking an experienced People & Culture Manager to join our National Office team. Is this you, or do you know someone who might be interested in this role?

This permanent, part‑time role (20 hours per week) is hands‑on and people‑focused, providing practical people, culture and compliance support across the life of the Church. You’ll work closely with staff and congregations to strengthen capability, lift consistency, and support safe, healthy and values‑aligned workplaces.

We’re looking for someone with experience in HR or people & culture, a sound understanding of employment legislation and good people practice, strong relationship‑building and communication skills, and a practical, supportive approach to recruitment, employment documentation, policy, performance, development and workplace culture.

Presbyterians in the news at Easter: This year Radio NZ broadcast the Easter service from St John's in the City, Wellington on Sunday 5 April. Service led by the Rev Allister Lane, and the Music Director and organist was Eleanor Carter, prayers and readings were by members of St John’s Miriam Wood and Rob Anderson. Kathryn Mosley conducted the choir, and the trumpets were played by Mark and Hugo Carter.
