People in Wellington are constantly searching for information about church - it gets Googled hundreds of times each month! People use public Google reviews as a way of finding out what church is really like, so it is a valuable tool we have to invite people into our church whanau. If you feel like leaving a review, Google The Street Church and you'll see the place to leave your review on the listing. The goal is to let people know how you find being part of this community, how it has benefited your life, and to encourage people to check out church.

Are you a faith-driven entrepreneur or someone who is curious about faith and business? The Wellington watch party of the Faith Driven Entrepreneur (FDE) conference is a chance to meet other believers on a business journey. Come along to be inspired and equipped by the conference speakers, discussion and prayer.

FDE is a global movement of Christ-following entrepreneurs. Here in Wellington a couple of groups have started to meet in community. We are loving the support from likeminded people who understand the challenges of business, the great content prepared by FDE and the equipping from the Word.

The Wellington watch party is open to anyone with an interest in faith and business. It’s a great chance to check out FDE and there will be a chance to join a foundation group after the watch party.

Date and time: 25th September from 2-5pm. This agenda will allow time for discussion and relaxed networking at the end.

Pricing: Tickets are free if you are a guest of the watch party or $39 if you’d prefer to watch individually.

You can register and find out more here:
Watch Party Registration - https://faithdrivenmovements.swoogo.com/Wellington
Full Conference Info - https://faithdrivenentrepreneur.org/2026-fde-conference/

If you have any questions or you’d like to find out more about the FDE community and resources, contact Nina Fountain on [email protected] and I would love to share more so you could decide how much or how little you’d like to be involved.

Prayer is absolutely foundational to all we believe God wants to do in and through our church. It is not just important, it is the engine room of everything we do. We long to be a church that prays and sees God move in power as a result.

There are so many opportunities to pray with others here at The Street Church:
- Every Sunday 9:30am - we gather to pray before the service
- Every Tuesday 6:30am - prayer meeting at 35 Park Rd, Miramar
- Every Thursday 12pm - prayer for the city at the Wellington Cathedral
- Thursday 10th Sept - fortnightly prayer meeting at Chris and Elwyn's

We also have a 24/7 prayer room in the Life Centre at Hania Street that you can book through the link: https://signup.24-7prayer.com/signup/d6b3da

Let's be people of prayer and expect great things of God

There is currently an unfolding crisis amongst many schools in Wellington, as they grapple with increasingly challenging wellbeing and behavioural issues with children and young people due to trauma and the fragmentation of basic family and relational structures.

Lifewalk Chaplaincy partners with the local church to place chaplains into schools (four hours a week) to help meet this need in the community. This presents an opportunity for Christian presence and influence in the lives of children from all walks of life.

There are a number of schools actively asking for chaplains and accordingly Lifewalk are hosting a training on September 17th-19th.

If you are interested in finding out more about making a difference in this way or to register for the training, email Manoj Ranchord at [email protected]

As a church seeking to help one another become total followers of Jesus Christ, our annual Spiritual Health Survey helps us check in on how we’re going. Some people also find this to be a helpful moment for personal reflection. As a church, it enables us to celebrate overall progress and identify areas that need investment. It can take as little as 10 minutes to complete and the more people who take part, the more useful the results, so every response matters. The link to this year’s survey will be included in the Senior Pastor Monthly Update that will land in your inbox on September 7th, with a closing date of September 30th.

Everything we do at The Street, is carried out on a foundation of prayer. As we press into the vision of being a disciple-making movement transforming Wellington and the world with the good news of Jesus Christ, we know that prayer for our city is a key part of seeing this vision a reality.

Since mid 2024, Jenny and Simon have gathered at the Wellington Cathedral every Thursday from 12pm - 1pm, with anyone who would join them, to pray. If you have not yet joined this gathering, and you have a heart to pray, you are always welcome!
