I have tried to share a lovely post on the CHB College page about Kath Fletcher whose death has also left an enormous gap in her St Mary's Church family... but I think i have failed miserably. Kath was our chief organist and choir mistress and a multitude of other roles to us all. Kath's funeral will be at St Mary's Church tomorrow at 11.00am.

We were saddened to hear of the passing of 2017 Hall of Honour recipient Kath Fletcher last week.

Kath taught science at Central Hawke’s Bay College from 1974 – 2001, as Teacher in Charge of Chemistry from 1978 - 1990 and then Head of Science from 1990 to 2001.

We send our condolences to her son Andrew and daughter Sue and their children for their loss.

Kath certainly lived by the school motto “Achieve with Honour”.

We are all feeling quite devastated at St Mary's, to discover this morning that the lights have been stolen from our Christmas Tree. We have battled on keeping the doors open because it was so important to us that anyone could come in during daylight hours for private prayer but this theft is just one too many. We previously had a sound system taken, as well as rechargeable batteries, a battery charger and a light for the piano. From our hall last week a sound system belonging to Deborah Lee, the Dancing Teacher was also stolen. If anyone knows anything about these thefts would you please, please let us know or the police.
