On Sunday, 1 March 2026 (the 13th day of the first lunar month), under the leadership of Most Venerable Abbot Thích Phước Tấn, Thiên Thai Monastery solemnly held the Full Moon Offering Ceremony of the First Lunar Month (Thượng Nguyên Festival).

Buddhist devotees from the local community, along with local friends, gathered in large numbers to participate. Together, they performed the midday offering ritual and prayed for peace and well-being at the beginning of the new year, followed by a communal vegetarian lunch in the dining hall.

This year’s program also featured Mr. Christ, who generously offered beautiful Vietnamese musical performances. After the ceremony, the Venerable Abbot delivered a Dharma talk to everyone. He expressed his joy at seeing so many people returning to the pagoda to attend the first ceremony of the year, in an atmosphere still filled with the spirit of Spring.

The event was further enriched by the attendance of Buddhist devotees from both Australia and New Zealand, contributing to the solemn, respectful, and uplifting atmosphere of the ceremony.
We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the Organizing Committee, the Sangha of Thien Thai Pagoda, volunteers, and supporters for their dedicated planning, coordination, and commitment. Thanks to your collective efforts, the ceremony was conducted successfully, seamlessly, and in accordance with Buddhist tradition and protocol.
As Venerable Thích Phước Tấn officially assumes the role of Abbot, we offer our heartfelt prayers for his continued spiritual guidance, compassionate leadership, and the flourishing of Buddha-Dharma at Thien Thai Pagoda. Đại Lễ Vu Lan mùa báo hiếu đã khép lại trong không khí trang nghiêm và tràn đầy nghĩa tình.

Quý đồng hương Phật tử đến chùa từ sớm trong những tà áo lam, áo dài... ai nấy đều hướng tâm về những giá trị đạo hiếu. Nghi Lễ cài bông hồng một biểu tượng cao đẹp về tình cảm gia đình khiến nhiều xúc động, nhắc nhở mỗi người về công lao sinh thành dưỡng dục.

Chúng con thành kính tri ân sự quang lâm và hướng dẫn của Thượng Tọa Thích Phước Tấn đến từ Úc Châu, làm cho Đại Lễ thành công viên mãn.

The Vu Lan Festival - the sacred season of filial piety of the nation, has ended in a solemn and affectionate atmosphere.

From early morning, the temple bells echoed in the peaceful space. AO LAM and AO DAI stretched out in the temple yard, everyone focused on filial values. The Rose Offering ceremony - a beautiful symbol of family affection - moved many people to tears, reminding each person of the merit of giving birth and raising them.

This year's Vu Lan Festival was a great success, leaving many unforgettable impressions in the hearts of each participant. This is the source of motivation to maintain and promote the nation's noble tradition of filial piety, cultivating a peaceful, humane and compassionate society. We would like to sincerely thank the guidance of Venerable Thich Phuoc Tan from Australia for making the Festival a great success.

Đại Lễ Phật Đản 2025!

Mặc dù có mưa rất to và gần như suốt ngày trong ngày Đại Lễ, tuy nhiên buổi Lễ đã thành công ngoài mong đợi khi quý đồng hương Phật Tử về chùa tham dự rất đông. Vì thời tiết không cho phép nên Lễ Thỉnh Sư đã không được thực hiện. Chư Đại Đức Tăng Ni được cung thỉnh vào Chánh Điện và buổi Lễ được tiến hành sau khi nhóm Phật tử Thiếu Nhi thực hiện nghi thức Dâng Hoa cúng dường Phật Đản và chư Đại Đức Tăng Ni.

Tiết mục Múa Lân cúng dường của đội lân Viet Hub mang lại niềm hân hoan, năng lượng tích cực cho tất cả mọi người hòa chung niềm vui kính mừng Đức Phật Đản sinh, cũng như thể hiện nét đẹp văn hoá truyền thống dân tộc. Tại trai đường, quý đồng hương Phật tử được trải nghiệm văn hóa ẩm thực truyền thống qua những món ăn chay thanh đạm.

Phật đản không còn là lễ riêng của người con Phật, mà đã trở thành ngày hội chung của cả cộng đồng. Đại Lễ đã khép lại, nhưng niềm vui, sự hoan hỷ và tình người vẫn còn lan tỏa. Mong rằng, ánh sáng của từ bi và trí tuệ trong mùa Phật đản sẽ tiếp tục soi đường cho quý đồng hương Phật tử hướng tới đời sống thiện lành, bình an và thấm đượm đạo lý.

Vesak Celebration 2025!
Despite the heavy rain that lasted nearly the entire day, the Vesak celebration turned out to be an overwhelming success with a large turnout of devoted Buddhists returning to the temple to participate. Due to the weather, the traditional Invitation of the Sangha Ceremony could not be performed. Instead, the Venerable Monks and Nuns were respectfully invited directly into the Main Hall, and the ceremony proceeded after the Buddhist Youth Group offered flowers in reverence to the Buddha and the Sangha.

The lion dance performance by the Viet Hub team brought joy and positive energy to all attendees, blending the festive spirit of Vesak with the beauty of traditional Vietnamese culture. It was truly delightful to see children and families smiling and enjoying the energy and beauty of the traditional dance. At the dining hall, attendees had the chance to enjoy a variety of light vegetarian dishes representing the essence of traditional cuisine.
Vesak has become more than just a religious observance for Buddhists — it has evolved into a joyous festival for the entire community. While the celebration has concluded, the joy, harmony, and compassion shared on the day continue to resonate. May the light of compassion and wisdom from this Vesak season guide our community towards a life of peace, kindness, and spiritual fulfillment.

The Management Committee of Thien Thai Monastery would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who attended—families, children, and community members—for braving the weather and contributing to the warm, spiritual atmosphere of the celebration.

Kính thưa Quý Đồng hương Phật tử gần xa,

Trong những ngày vừa qua, tình hình động đất ở Myanmar (Miến Điện) gây ảnh hưởng nghiêm trọng đến cuộc sống của người dân địa phương, thiếu thốn thực phẩm, vật dụng cần thiết hàng ngày.

Hiên nay Liên Hợp Quốc các tổ chức cứu trợ, các nước trên thế giới hướng về Myanmar huy động quỹ cứu trợ và ứng phó khẩn cấp để hỗ trợ người dân nơi đây vượt qua thiên tai này.

Với tinh thần từ bi, tương thân, tương ái Giáo Hội Phật Giáo Thống Nhất Úc Đại Lợi & Tân Tây Lan cũng đã phát động các tự viện cùng kêu gọi quyên góp cho Myanmar. Phật dạy: “Cứu một mạng người hơn xây bảy tháp phù đồ”, rất mong sự chung tay giúp đỡ của Quý đồng Hương Phật tử cùng với Chùa Thiên Thai nói riêng và Giáo Hội nói chung

LETTER CALLING FOR SUPPORT FOR THE MYANMAR EARTHQUAKE

Dear Fellow Buddhists and Compatriots near and far,

In recent days, the earthquake situation in Myanmar has severely affected the lives of local people, leaving them lacking food and essential daily supplies.

Currently, the United Nations, relief organizations, and countries around the world are turning their attention to Myanmar to mobilize relief and emergency response to help the people there overcome this natural disaster.

With the spirit of compassion, solidarity, and loving-kindness, the Unified Vietnamese Buddhist Congregation of Australia and New Zealand has also launched a campaign across monasteries to call for donations for Myanmar. The Buddha taught: “Saving one life is more meritorious than building seven pagodas.” We sincerely hope for the support and generosity of all fellow Buddhists, together with Thien Thai Monastery in particular and the Sangha in general.
