Đại Lễ Vu Lan PL 2570 (phần 1)
Mặc dù thời tiết không được tốt, tuy nhiên Quý đồng hương Phật tử đã dành thời gian đến chùa tham dự Đại Lễ rất đông, cùng nhau ngồi dự Lễ trong không gian ấm cúng của Chánh Điện, hành Lễ và được lắng nghe Thượng tọa trụ trì ban bài pháp thoại hay và ý nghĩa về Vu Lan, cha mẹ và mối liên kết quý giá giữa cha mẹ và con cái. Những lời dạy của Thượng Tọa đã nhắc nhở chúng ta về truyền thống Phật giáo hiếu thảo – kính trọng, tôn trọng và biết ơn cha mẹ vì tình yêu thương vô điều kiện và những hy sinh vô bờ bến của họ. ❤️
Trong hai tuần qua, Chùa cũng tổ chức hai Lễ Quy Y Tam Bảo cho một số quý đồng hương.

🌸 Gratitude & Thanks – Vu Lan Festival 2026 🌸
We’d like to sincerely thank everyone who came along with us for our Vu Lan Festival on Sunday at the temple. Even though Wellington greeted us with plenty of rain, plus some challenging weather, it still felt really heartwarming to see so many members of our Vietnamese community travel to the temple and take part in this meaningful celebration. 🙏
A big special thank you to our Most Venerable Abbot Thich Phuoc Tan, who travelled all the way from Melbourne, Australia, for sharing a beautiful, and very meaningful Dharma talk about Vu Lan, our parents, and that precious bond between parents and children. His teachings nudged us back to the Buddhist tradition of filial piety (hiếu hạnh)— honoring, respecting, and expressing gratitude to our parents for their unconditional love and endless sacrifices. ❤️
Throughout the festival, community members also had this wonderful chance to take refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha, looking for guidance, wisdom and blessings for their spiritual path. May the Buddha’s blessings bring peace, compassion and happiness to each and every one of our families. 🙏🌿
After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed a vibrant colourful vegetarian Vietnamese lunch— with a great variety of traditional dishes prepared with care and love by our community. 🍜🥗😊
Thanks also to all the volunteers, devotees, families, and community members who gave their time, energy, and support to make this Vu Lan Festival such a successful memorable occasion.
May the spirit of Vu Lan remind us to cherish our parents, honors those who came before us, and carry gratitude, compassion, and loving-kindness into our daily lives and hearts, no matter what.

Lễ QUY Y TAM BẢO VÀ THỌ NGŨ GIỚI - THE THREE JEWELS AND FIVE PRECEPTS CEREMONY

Dưới sự hứa khả của Thượng Tọa Trụ Trì Thích Phước Tấn, chiều 17 tháng 5 năm 2026, tại Chùa Thiên Thai đã diễn ra Lễ Quy Y Tam Bảo cho 8 quý đồng hương.

Under the guidance and approval of Most Venerable Abbot Thích Phước Tấn, on the afternoon of 17 May 2026, the Three Jewels Taking Refuge Ceremony was solemnly held at Thiên Thai for eight members of the Vietnamese Buddhist community.

Chủ Nhật ngày 17 tháng 5 năm 2026, Lễ Phật đản tại chùa Thiên Thai đã được tổ chức trong không khí trang nghiêm, thanh tịnh và thắm đượm tinh thần từ bi, hòa hợp. Buổi lễ là dịp để tăng ni, Quý đồng hương Phật tử cùng nhau tưởng niệm ngày Đản sinh của Đức Phật Thích Ca Mâu Ni, đồng thời lan tỏa những giá trị tốt đẹp về lòng nhân ái, hướng thiện và sống an lành.
Chương trình bắt đầu bằng Lễ Thỉnh Sư, Thượng Tọa Trụ Trì Thích Phước Tấn đã tiến hành tụng kinh Cúng Ngọ, Sám Khánh Đản và thực hiện Nghi Thức Tắm Phật cùng với quý Đồng Hương Phật Tử. Sau đó là bài pháp thoại ngắn Thượng Tọa nói về chủ đề Phật Tánh trong mỗi con người.

On Sunday, 17 May 2026, the Vesak Celebration at Thiên Thai Temple was held in a solemn, peaceful, and compassionate atmosphere filled with harmony and unity. The ceremony provided an opportunity for monks, nuns, and members of the Buddhist community to come together in commemoration of the birth of Gautama Buddha, while also spreading the noble values of compassion, kindness, wholesome living, and inner peace.
The program began with the ceremonial invitation of the monks. The Abbot, Venerable Thích Phước Tấn, led the Noon Offering Chanting, the Vesak Repentance Chanting Ceremony, and the Bathing Buddha Ritual together with the Buddhist devotees and community members. This was followed by a short Dharma talk by the Venerable, focusing on the theme of “Buddha Nature within every human being.”

On Sunday, 1 March 2026 (the 13th day of the first lunar month), under the leadership of Most Venerable Abbot Thích Phước Tấn, Thiên Thai Monastery solemnly held the Full Moon Offering Ceremony of the First Lunar Month (Thượng Nguyên Festival).

Buddhist devotees from the local community, along with local friends, gathered in large numbers to participate. Together, they performed the midday offering ritual and prayed for peace and well-being at the beginning of the new year, followed by a communal vegetarian lunch in the dining hall.

This year’s program also featured Mr. Christ, who generously offered beautiful Vietnamese musical performances. After the ceremony, the Venerable Abbot delivered a Dharma talk to everyone. He expressed his joy at seeing so many people returning to the pagoda to attend the first ceremony of the year, in an atmosphere still filled with the spirit of Spring.

Thanks to your collective efforts, the ceremony was conducted successfully, seamlessly, and in accordance with Buddhist tradition and protocol.
As Venerable Thích Phước Tấn officially assumes the role of Abbot, we offer our heartfelt prayers for his continued spiritual guidance, compassionate leadership, and the flourishing of Buddha-Dharma at Thien Thai Pagoda.
