It’s been a full season for our little team, and many of you have noticed we haven’t been able to post as often as we’d like. Thank you for your patience and for checking in on us.
A few people have asked for a simple way to understand Holy Week, so here’s a quick breakdown that we hope is helpful.

A Simple Guide to Holy Week
**Palm Sunday**
We remember Jesus entering Jerusalem. People welcomed Him with palm branches, celebrating Him as King.
**Maundy Thursday**
This is the night Jesus shared the Last Supper with His disciples and taught them to love and serve one another. It’s also when He prayed in the garden before being arrested.
**Good Friday**
A solemn day where we remember Jesus’ suffering and crucifixion. It’s a time of reflection, gratitude, and quiet prayer.
**Holy Saturday**
A day of waiting. Jesus’ body lay in the tomb, and His followers sat in grief and uncertainty — not knowing the miracle that was coming.
**Easter Sunday**
The celebration of Jesus’ resurrection. Light breaks through darkness, hope overcomes fear, and life triumphs over death. This is the heart of our faith.

We've been doing our best to share as much as we can, and now with our very own Rev. Tertius Jacobs on board, I'm sure there will be even more to celebrate and communicate. Truly thankful for the support and for being able to share the workload.
Blessings, and watch this space for more information coming.

** Late Post **
Apologies for the delay — with limited staff, it can be a challenge to keep everything updated on our Tuakau Union Parish Church page.
Last week we entered the season of Lent — a 40‑day journey of reflection, prayer, and intentional living as we prepare for Easter. Our theme this year is “Wisdom in the Wilderness.” Together we’ll explore how "God meets us in the everyday moments of our lives."
This Sunday, we’re looking at Matthew 4:1–11. You’re warmly invited to join us. All are welcome to attend our services every Sunday morning at 9.30 am with Rev. Tertius Jacobs, followed by a shared morning tea in the St. Stephen's Lounge.
Upcoming Dates:
• 1 March – Communion (Tuakau 9:30am, Pukekawa 11:15am)
• 6 March – World Day of Prayer, 7pm at the Anglican Church
• 7 March – March for Life, 1pm Queen Street, Auckland
• 8 March – Tuvaluan/Tuakau Combined Service, 9:30am
• 13 March – Practicing the Way course begins, 7pm at Tuakau Union Parish
We’d love you to join our Practicing the Way course — eight sessions to help us grow as apprentices of Jesus in our everyday lives.
