It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Tumuaki Andre Meihana in the early hours of this morning as a result of a medical incident.

Andre will lie at his home in Ratana this evening (Friday 1 March 2024 with his wife Soraya, their children, mokopuna and whanau at his side. Tomorrow morning (Saturday 2 March 2024) he will then be taken to the Manuao where he will lay in state in Rangimarie until his Ra Nehu on Tuesday 5 March 2024 at 11am.

A gifted musician, a long serving member and former Chairman of Komiti Matua o te Haahi Andre showed his unwavering love and support for Te Iwi Morehu in his stand at a time when negative forces sought to take away the voice of the people. He will always be loved and remembered as a humble, unassuming and dedicated Apotoro Wairua, me te Tumuaki mo te motu.

E te whānau pani a Soraya, me a kōrua tamariki me ngā mokopuna, te whānau Meihana, piki te ora, piki te kaha, piki te marama me te rangimarie ki runga i a koutou katoa, ko te Māngai hei tautoko mai, aianei, ake nei AE.
