Kia ora e te whanau.
Following the recent alert from Civil Defence warning us about the potential impact of Cyclone Vaianu, Church Leadership has made the decision to cancel the Service tomorrow.
The official advice is to stay off the roads as much as possible. We don’t want staff or volunteers to feel forced to travel in when it doesn’t feel safe, nor do we want anyone to be at risk by being at church when the worst of the storm is scheduled to hit.
We understand that this could be disappointing for some. I personally was looking forward to finishing the Gospel of Matthew with you all tomorrow. But looks like the Matthew series might need to last one week longer.
In the meantime, hunker down and stay safe. Pass on this message to anyone from church that might miss it. Check in with your neighbours, and give someone from your team, LifeGroup, or ministry a call to see how they are doing.
