Kingdom Men Men reigning in Christ to do the exploits of the Kingdom

12/04/2020

Greetings Kingdom men. I was recently asked a question. “Do I think that this Coronavirus is from God?” This was my answer. “Yes, I believe our present situation is here for a divine purpose- to shake our foundations. It has forced families to come together, put rest ahead of labour and smashed our confidence in religious institutions. It has 'reset' our social institutions by at least half a century, and has given The Creation which we have ill-managed and abused a sabbath. Governments all round the world are in panic because, despite all their experts, nobody can say how this will end. It is time for the Kingdom to come forth.”
Yes, for many people there is pain - loss of income, worries about mounting debt and fear of loss, but kingdom thinking has to find the answer in faith and in reliance upon
a God who not only is “Judge of All”, but our loving “Abba”. Shalom and blessings

Hi Guys. Great to see many of you 'old hands' this morning and also a couple of new friends and some who travelled all the way from Thames. Thanks for making the effort. It always inspires me to hear of the wide variety of projects many of you are undertaking for the Kingdom. If you haven't viewed my post for the Graham Staines movie, "The Least of these" currently showing at Events theatres, I would recommend it as a challenging testimony of sacrificial service.

John Green Writes:
Nehemiah 8:1-12 (NIV)
8 1 all the people came together as one in the square before the Water Gate. They told Ezra the teacher of the Law to bring out the Book of the Law of Moses, which the Lord had commanded for Israel.
2 So on the first day of the seventh month Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly, which was made up of men and women and all who were able to understand. 3 He read it aloud from daybreak till noon as he faced the square before the Water Gate in the presence of the men, women and others who could understand. And all the people listened attentively to the Book of the Law.
4 Ezra the teacher of the Law stood on a high wooden platform built for the occasion. Beside him on his right stood Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Uriah, Hilkiah and Maaseiah; and on his left were Pedaiah, Mishael, Malkijah, Hashum, Hashbaddanah, Zechariah and Meshullam.
5 Ezra opened the book. All the people could see him because he was standing above them; and as he opened it, the people all stood up.6 Ezra praised the Lord, the great God; and all the people lifted their hands and responded, “Amen! Amen!” Then they bowed down and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground.
7 The Levites—Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan and Pelaiah—instructed the people in the Law while the people were standing there.8 They read from the Book of the Law of God, making it clear[a] and giving the meaning so that the people understood what was being read.
9 Then Nehemiah the governor, Ezra the priest and teacher of the Law, and the Levites who were instructing the people said to them all, “This day is holy to the Lord your God. Do not mourn or weep.” For all the people had been weeping as they listened to the words of the Law.
10 Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
11 The Levites calmed all the people, saying, “Be still, for this is a holy day. Do not grieve.”
12 Then all the people went away to eat and drink, to send portions of food and to celebrate with great joy, because they now understood the words that had been made known to them.
V1 all the people came together as one in the square before the Water Gate.
V2 So on the first day of the seventh month Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly, which was made up of men and women and all who were able to understand. 3 He read it aloud from daybreak till noon as he faced the square before the Water Gate in the presence of the men, women and others who could understand. And all the people listened attentively to the Book of the Law.

Some scholars believe this was a gathering of about 50,000 people.Picture it: 50,000 people bowing to the ground, mourning their transgressions in unison. Like a hammer, God’s Word had broken their pride, and their weeping echoed over the hills for miles. (David Wilkinson)
Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
The nugget I got from this was, that if that was the population of the Nation then imagine the effect of 50,000 individuals going out to unbelievers sharing the Good News. Each utilizing their God given gifting. What if, if only that could happen in our Nation today. The effect it could happen on our Nation each believer of the Nation NZ individually going out to unbelievers, neighbours & friends sharing the message of Salvation, Good News.

Tim Dodderell writes; If character is an important attribute of a person.... then I would add to that and say that pressure.... and extreme pressure on a person reveals what's inside.... its where the rubber meets the road its not just simply saying the right things or having correct understanding but by actions or even un actions character is actually revealed..... anyone can say yeah I will be there for you as a friend etc and when the time comes they simply aren't there..... I'm amazed that in past years like the people you though where there for you simply just werent and the people you thought would abandon you come to aid....... not a golden rule for relationships and friendships.... but straight up be careful or who you invest in and vice versa... character untested is like armour than has never been in a battle... you don't how it's going to do when the hammer comes down...... I'm not where I want to be but I know where I'm headed and that's enough right now!!!!

Keeping it simple and effective; "Having community is a way to live. We have to make time for friendships, space for new people, and learn to love people simply as they are, not how we would like them to be. We are not alone here. It is Jesus’ job to build the church and the Spirit’s task to show us our place in it. This relational way of engaging his church is a challenge to be sure, but the fruits of doing so are to experience an ever-growing network of friendships that brings wisdom, healing, comfort, and joy to your life in Jesus." The quote is from Wayne Jacobsen

That I may know Him

Paul writes: no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:3.

So we would naturally think that if someone confesses that Jesus is Lord then they are saved. But most of us would agree that reducing anything in God down to a formula is bound to fail. In fact Jesus points out quite clearly that not everyone who stands before Him, addressing Him as “Lord”, will enter the kingdom of heaven.
"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven." Matthew 7:21.

Jesus points out that the criteria for entrance to His kingdom is “doing the will of His Father”. That sounds similar to what James said when he wrote “faith without works is dead” James 2:26.

But Jesus goes on to say that salvation is even more than doing the works of God.
"Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me you who practice lawlessness.' ” Matthew 7:22,23.

Salvation is not a confession, or amazing and powerful supernatural deeds. It is having a personal relationship with Jesus – knowing Him. From this relationship flow the works of the Father and the confession of our lips. When He owns our heart, then our hands, feet and lips will express that.

Without being cynical we must recognise that a simple confession of faith is not necessarily the measure of a person’s soul. And don’t be in awe of those who move in great supernatural power – be in awe of Him and then you’ll desire to do what pleases Him – and you’ll find that your confession is genuine and your works are the supernatural works of the Father.

In the words of Paul:
I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ ... that I may know Him ... in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. Philippians 3:8-11
