What would our faith lives look like if we had our own stories of experiencing God’s miracles firsthand? Before crossing the Jordan, the Israelites only had the stories from the previous generations to bolster their faith in God. Now, as they are poised on the banks of a raging river in full flood...

Sunday 26th Dec

Hello Kids,
😃
Come and join us at church this morning, 9am or 10.30am as we finish off our Christmas series and looking at all the reasons to celebrate 🎉❤️
(Parents please see the next post for the drop off and collection details of your children)

For those joining us online:
*We finish up our Christmas season celebration in Matthew 2:1-12. We see how the announcement of Jesus’ birth was far-reaching. Wise men from the East saw a star that set them on an adventure to find a promised king of Israel. We’re not sure how long it took, but when the wise men finally found Jesus, they worshipped Him as king!

*Bottom Line: Never stop celebrating Jesus.

*After the Christmas decorations come down, it can be easy for kids to assume that the spirit of Christmas gets packed away too. We want kids to realize that they don’t need a fancy holiday to celebrate Jesus. They can celebrate when they sing to Jesus, read the Bible, and show Jesus’ love to others.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS - Celebrate because God has a plan

This week just before Christmas, we head to the familiar passage in Luke 2:1-20, where we read how Jesus was born in Bethlehem! We find that God didn’t announce Jesus’ birth to kings or government officials. Rather, God sent an angel choir to announce this news to a bunch of shepherds on a hillside. The shepherds ran to find Jesus, where they worshipped Him. When they left, they were so full of joy that they made sure to tell everyone what they had seen.

Bottom Line: Celebrate because God sent a Saviour.

We all know that Christmas is about Jesus, but sometimes it’s just too easy to think Christmas is about lights and decorations and presents. Those things aren’t bad, but it’s important that we stay focused on the truth of what we celebrate at Christmas—that God loved us so much and sent Jesus to rescue us.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS - Celebrate because God has a plan

Hi Kids, 😃

This week we turn to Luke 1:26-56.

The Messiah had been promised for generations, but no one would have guessed that God would use a young woman to bring that promise to fulfilment—including that young woman herself. Mary was awestruck when the angel came to announce that she was about to have a child who would be the Saviour of the world. She found joy, trusting that God was up to something bigger than she could have possibly imagined.

Bottom Line: Celebrate because God has a plan.

When God sent Jesus, it was the answer to years and years of a plan to rescue the world. The people must have wondered what God was doing, or if God was still working. We can feel the same way about our own circumstances. Yet, time and again, we realize that we can trust God no matter what. We might not understand God’s plan, but we can celebrate that God is working out a great plan for our lives.

It is December and that means it is nearly Christmas! We have so much to celebrate and we may need reminders of what this can look like, or why we can celebrate even when things may seem messy.
