The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity
Sunday 31 May 2026

This Sunday, we celebrate the beautiful mystery of the Holy Trinity — Father, Son and Holy Spirit — one God in perfect love and unity. ❤️

“The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”
— 2 Corinthians 13:13

As we gather together in worship, may we be reminded that we are called to live in love, unity and communion with one another, reflecting the very life of God Himself.

Join us this Sunday at St Joseph’s Takapuna:
⛪ Mass Times:
Saturday 5pm
Sunday 7:30am, 10:30am & 6pm

🍂 Please note: There will be no morning tea after the 10:30am Mass this week — instead, come and support our Youth Fundraiser Autumn Morning Market happening after the 7:30am and 10:30am Masses! Enjoy food, fun games and fellowship while supporting our parish youth.

May the blessing of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit remain with you and your families always. 🙏

🔥 Pentecost Sunday – 24 May 2026 🔥

“Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.”

Today we celebrate Pentecost — the day the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles, filling them with courage, wisdom and joy to share the Good News with the world. ✨

As we gather together in faith this Sunday, may we open our hearts to the breath of God and allow the Spirit to renew us, guide us and strengthen our parish community.

May the Holy Spirit fill your homes with peace, hope and joy this Pentecost Sunday. Mass times can be found here: https://stjoseph.org.nz/mass-times/

🌸 Happy Mother’s Day 🌸

This weekend, we give thanks for all mothers and the many women in our parish community who nurture, guide, encourage, and support others with such generosity and love.

Today we also remember with love those mothers who are no longer with us, and we hold in prayer all for whom this day may be difficult.

May Mary walk closely with you, and may God bless you with His peace, strength, and grace in all that you do.

From all of us at St Joseph's Parish Takapuna & St Vincent de Paul Milford — Happy Mother’s Day 💐

Vocations Sunday | 26 April 2026

This Sunday, we pause to reflect on the beautiful call God places on each of our lives.

Vocations Sunday is a special opportunity to pray for and encourage those who are discerning a calling to the priesthood, religious life, or other forms of service within the Church. It’s also a reminder that every one of us has a vocation — a unique purpose through which we are called to love, serve, and build up our community.

Let us keep in our prayers:

Those currently discerning their vocation
Our priests and religious, who faithfully serve
Young people, that they may be open to God’s call

If you feel a stirring in your heart, take a moment to listen. God is still calling.

“Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will.”

🌺 ANZAC Day | Lest We Forget 🌺

Today, we pause to remember and give thanks for the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who gave their lives in times of war.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:13)

As we honour their memory, we are also called to something deeper — not only remembrance, but a renewed commitment to peace. In a world still marked by conflict, may we become people who choose dialogue over division, justice over violence, and compassion over indifference.

🙏 Let us pray:

For those who have died in war
For veterans and their families
For leaders of nations, that they may choose peace

May we carry forward their legacy not only in memory, but in the “patient work of peace” in our own lives and communities.

Lest we forget.

All are welcome to a new season of Alpha at St Josephs Takapuna.
Beginning Tuesday evening, 28 April, we are starting a new season of the Alpha Course (see www.alpha.org.nz). Alpha is a wonderful way to meet new people, explore the Christian faith in a welcoming environment, and grow in areas such as personal prayer, Scripture, and life in the Holy Spirit, all within a Catholic context.

The Alpha Course runs for seven Tuesday evenings, from 7:00–9:00 pm, in the Parish Hall. Each evening begins with a shared meal, followed by a short video and a time of discussion and reflection. The course also includes a one day retreat, which is the culmination of the Alpha experience.

If you would like to attend, please register by Friday, 24 April 2026, by contacting Deacon Steve at [email protected].

We would love to see you there!

3rd Sunday of Easter

“It is true! The Lord has risen…” (Luke 24:13–35)

Like the disciples on the road to Emmaus, we may not always recognise Jesus walking beside us—but He is there, in our daily lives, in our conversations, and in one another.

💭 How can I share the hope of the Resurrection with others through my words and actions?

As a parish community, we’re called to be witnesses of that hope—through kindness, presence, and love.

Join us this weekend:
🕊 Sat 5pm
🕊 Sun 7:30am, 10:30am (livestreamed), 6pm

☕ Stay for morning tea after the 10:30am Mass—we’d love to see you there!
