Today a packed church celebrated the life of friend, parishioner and actress Anna Boulter (nee Anna Dawson) and laid her ashes to rest with those of her dearly loved husband John Boulter. The service will be held at 11:00am at 1 Church Street, Kororāreka/Russell.

This Matariki Sunday we welcome guest speaker Rev'd Jacynthia Murphy: an engaging and passionate speaker on the oranga (wellbeing) of peoples, forests, wildlife, cultures, partnerships, and spirituality. Her social justice contributions have taken her to places throughout the Anglican Communion globally. Jacynthia is extremely grateful for the blessing to be primarily with kuia/kaumātua (elderly) in expressing their forms of toi (art), waiata (song), karakia (prayer), and cultural kōrero (conversations). It is within these environments that we can all give thanks for the diversity of all gifts.

All are welcome at our Matariki service at 10.30am on Sunday 12th July with a shared community lunch afterwards, where all kai contributions are also welcome!

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of a much treasured member of our faith community, former actress Anna Boulter (nee Dawson). Anna died peacefully on Saturday 27 June in Kerikeri at 3pm.
Many from the Russell community will remember Anna and her late husband John Boulter who lived in Okiato and Tapeka.

A beautiful biblical babel of our community's languages enriched the worship today and emphasised the pan-cultural diaspora that makes our little, authentic and historic church so exciting to be part of. All are welcome here and Pentecost, the Feast of the Holy Spirit, is the example.
