This Sunday please come join us as we celebrate St Luke the Evangelist. St Luke wrote the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles, sharing the story of Jesus’ life, teachings, death and resurrection, as well as the growth of the early Church. St Luke is especially known for emphasising God’s love, mercy and compassion for the poor, the sick and those in need. His feast day is celebrated on 18 October, and he is the patron saint of doctors and artists…… and of course he is this church’s patronal saint.

Here is our latest parish news. You will read an early ‘heads up’ about our biannual cake stall at Kuirau Park on 21 November 2026. We may be a small congregation compared to some others but the way our parish contributes is mighty! God bless you all. Everything you need to know is in the newsletter. This ‘Father’s Day’ a big shout out to all who father:

• For the hands-on and modern dads: Thank you for managing the daily grind, sharing household duties, and playing endlessly with the kids
• For stepdads, foster dads, for single dads and single mums who shoulder both parenting jobs: Thank you for the double duty you pull and the deliberate choice you made to step up and show unconditional love
• For grandpas, uncles, brothers, mentors and friends who act like a parent: Thank you for the wisdom, steady guidance, and comfort you provide when it is needed most
And finally to those of you with mixed feelings about the day, who maybe find it hard because of loss, strained relationships, or longing.
May you all know God’s love, grace
and blessings this day and every day.
