Sadly, we sometimes reward appearing strong more than being honest.
Because of this, expressing emotions no longer feels safe or important. We learn how to sound spiritually mature while quietly hiding our doubts, fears, and struggles.
We feel like we always need to appear strong in faith and joyful even during difficult seasons. But deep inside, we ignore what we are truly going through.
There is nothing wrong with choosing faith during hard moments.
But choosing faith is different from denying reality.
Sometimes, our faith may look strong on the outside while inside we feel unseen, pressured, exhausted, or emotionally disconnected.
Acknowledging emotions does not mean we are controlled by them.
It simply means we no longer have to suppress them.
Real faith is not about pretending to always be okay.
Sometimes, real faith is being honest about our pain while still choosing to hold on to God’s truth.
