The Leprosy Mission NZ are a mission's group that advocate for children with leprosy. Earlier this year, they had the privilege of travelling to Nepal to witness the incredible work being carried out at Anandaban Hospital, a specialist hospital operated by Leprosy Mission Nepal.
Since returning, they have been passionate about sharing the stories of people with lived experience of leprosy, while also raising funds for a new ambulance for the hospital. The current ambulance is not well suited to the challenging and rocky terrain, making a replacement essential for transporting patients and extending medical care to those in remote communities.
So far, they have raised approximately $20,000 towards our $34,000 goal. As part of this fundraising effort, they are hosting a Concert Fundraiser this October at Orewa Baptist Church. The event will feature a range of talented performers, along with a "gourmet style" Nepalese sausage sizzle.
Entry to the concert is completely free. It is important to them that people have the opportunity to hear these powerful stories without feeling any financial obligation. Donations will be welcomed but are entirely voluntary.
The team would be incredibly grateful for any support and in helping them spread the word. I've attached their poster and included a link to their fundraising website below for anyone who might be interested in their mission and who would want to attend the concert that will be held on October 3rd at Orewa Baptist Church as advertised on the poster.
