The Light Party is organised by the churches in Morrinsville and hosted at Knox Presbyterian church and is a is a lighter alternative to Halloween. An evening hosted for children and their families ages 5-15 with a special area for under 5’s, we encourage families to bring down their children to experience an evening of fun activities, games and coffee/tea with goodies for the parents. For a donat
ion of $2, children have access this year to new events, but the traditional ones like bouncy castles, multiple crafts, games, cartoons, contests, make-up artists, mini golf and a sausage sizzle. There will be handouts of goodies, lots of lollies with volunteers helping in all areas along with prizes for best original homemade costumes. Everyone is encouraged to wear a fancy dress costume, but the traditional scary Halloween costume is to be left at home as the children will be required to remove them to enter the Light party. Everyone is encouraged to come early for the full experience of all the fun and games. The Light Party is an event to promote wholesome family entertainment along with the connection to the Morrinsville Christian community. It is an entirely non-profit event designed only to cover the costs of operating expenses and is run by a volunteer committee with wonderful support of some Morrinsville businesses.
