We are a medium size church with a strong presence in the community. We have one worship service on a Sunday at 9:00 am and a midweek Thursday service at 10:00 am. We run a fruit and veggie hub each Thursday (called The Vege Hub), a Friday Night Community Meal once a month, a Community Pantry, and Veggie Garden. Twinkletoes music and movement for under is on Wednesdays at 10:00 am, we have a Bible

Study group that meet weekly, and a Womens Fellowship that meets monthly. We do these things to make a positive difference in our community and to love our neighbour as ourselves. As disciples of Jesus, we believe we are called to serve others in his name. Our faith nurtures us. We want to help others and share the love that we have been given from God.

Jesus, Begging and the ‘Move On’ Orders - A reflection by Bishop Anashuya

“Beggar” is not a term many people use today. Yet it places this man squarely within the gospel narratives: among those whom Jesus noticed, valued, and loved.

In Jesus’ day, beggars were considered unclean. The health conditions that plagued some were considered a curse from God. Beggars were often shunned, despised, and treated as an inconvenience to be hidden away from public view.

Thanks Ann for the Te Pouhere Sunday art from our young people at church this morning.

God of unity and grace,

We give thanks for Te Pouhere, the covenant that binds us together as one Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia. Strengthen us in our shared mission, deepen our love for one another, and help us to honour the gifts of every culture and people.

Guide us by your Holy Spirit, that we may walk together in faith, hope, and service, proclaiming the good news of Christ in all we do.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amine

Holy Trinity,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
draw us more deeply into your life of love.
Shape us as people of communion,
sent to witness to your grace among all nations.
Guide your Church in faith, hope and love,
and help us to trust the promise of Christ,
who is with us always.
Amen.

Thanks to Ann for the children and young people's craft.

This morning's Pentecost Service was led by Bishop Justin Duckworth. Bishop Justin prayed encouragement and blessings for the worship leadership teams from our Sunday and Thursday services; Rev Anne, Rev Lynda, Rev John, Michael, Tony, Kathriona, Nicholas, Elaine, David, (and in absentia) Mark, Chrissie, and Deacon Sybil.

We see the Spirit at work among you—bringing together different gifts and callings into one shared ministry, igniting faith, and giving voice to praise that draws us all closer to God. We honour and appreciate all that you do, both seen and unseen. Your service strengthens our worship and enriches our life together as the body of Christ here in this place.

May the blessing of God,
the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
rest upon you and remain with you always.
May Christ, the great Shepherd of the sheep,
fill you with every good gift for doing his will;
and may the fire of Pentecost burn brightly in your hearts,
strengthening you in your ministry
and sending you out with joy and peace.
Amen.
