Children in the Bible!
Children in the Church?

When I first shared this, about five years ago it seemed to resonate with many.

NOT, they said, because of their activity with children and young people - we don't recognise those steretypes as practitoners - BUT because of the perception of those who don't minister to, work with or engage with children, yet often lead our churches and / or have a powerful voice on the PCC, leadership team etc.

I wonder, as we have experienced the last couple of years, whether children have drifted further from view and - in some of our churches - disappeared all together?

How do we raise expectations and bring challenge to views that limit what children can bring to the life of the church?

Too many churches are simply social clubs when we need centers of transformation that take seriously Jesus’ mission to “proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

Creation is a great way to start a conversation about God. If you say its a beautiful day, try adding on just a short statement like: "Isn't God so amazing to have created all that?" Simple sentences like this make God a natural part of conversation and everyday life.
