At Hibiscus Coast Presbyterian Church, we are intentionally growing as a multicultural and multigenerational church community.

If you are Mandarin-speaking or Japanese-speaking and looking for a local church family, we would love to welcome you this Sunday.

Our main spoken and sung language is English. We are excited to now also offer live transcription and translation in both Mandarin and Japanese during our services. It is one small but meaningful step in helping more people feel at home as we worship Jesus together.

You do not need to have everything figured out before you come. Just come as you are.

We would love to meet you.

Hibiscus Coast Presbyterian Church is looking for someone with a bit of skill and pride in cable management to help us tidy up our newly built AV control centre.

The system is fully operational and already working well, but as the project has grown and evolved, the cabling behind the desk could definitely benefit from a more experienced eye and a cleaner final finish.

This is not a complete mess or emergency repair job. Everything functions. We simply recognise that good cable management is a skill in itself, and we would love someone who enjoys that kind of work to help us bring the setup to a more polished and maintainable standard.

The system includes:
- AV equipment
- Mac minis
- Network hardware
- Audio interfaces
- HDMI and XLR patching
- Stream Deck and control hardware

We would especially value someone who:
- enjoys neat, logical layouts
- understands strain relief and cable routing
- can help make future maintenance and fault-finding easier
- appreciates clean workmanship

If this sounds like your sort of thing, or if you know someone who would enjoy helping, please send us a message or contact the church office.

Tea, coffee, gratitude, and probably a fair amount of enthusiastic conversation about AV systems included.

We’re putting together a new AV control desk at church and could use a bit of help from our community.

We’re looking for three matching computer monitors (they don’t need to be new) to use as part of the setup.
What we’re after:
Around 21" to 24"
HDMI input (this is important)
In good working condition
Ideally the same model (or at least very similar)

If you have some sitting unused, or know someone who might, we’d love to hear from you.

This is part of making our services more accessible, including supporting live transcription and translation, so it really does make a difference.

Feel free to comment below or send us a message.
Thank you for being part of it.

We’re looking for a carpenter… and a bit of craftsmanship with meaning.

As part of a recent refresh of our church space, we’ve been rethinking how the front of our sanctuary speaks when people walk in. One piece still missing is a cross. Not something polished or mass-produced, but something rugged, honest, and full of character.

We’re hoping to find someone who would be willing to help us build a wooden cross that reflects that vision. Think reclaimed timber, visible grain, something that feels grounded and real. We already have a plan for how it will be mounted and backlit, so what we need is someone with the skill and willingness to bring the cross itself to life.

This isn’t just a build for us. It’s something that will sit at the centre of our worship for years to come.

If you’re a carpenter, or you know someone who might be keen to be part of something like this, we’d love to hear from you. Feel free to message the page or get in touch directly.

From all of us at Hibiscus Coast Presbyterian Church, we want to wish our Orewa neighbours and the wider Hibiscus Coast community a very warm and hope-filled Christmas.

Christmas arrives every year, whether life feels settled or scrambled, joyful or heavy. The story we return to is a simple one: God choosing to come close, to be present, to share our ordinary human life. A child born not into comfort or certainty, but into the real world as it is. That still matters. Especially now.

If you are carrying joy this season, we celebrate with you. If you are tired, grieving, or quietly holding things together, please know you are not alone. There is room for you too.
We would love to open our doors and share Christmas with you.

Christmas Eve Carol Service
Wednesday, 24 December
Pre-service carols from 5:45pm
Service begins at 6:00pm
Shared meal afterwards - bring a plate of festive food to share
Christmas Morning Service
Thursday, 25 December
9:00am

Come as you are. Bring friends, family, children, neighbours, gratitude, or simply yourself. Sing if you want. Sit quietly if you need to. Stay for food and conversation if that suits you.

Our prayer this Christmas is simple: that hope would feel a little more real, that peace would feel a little closer, and that love would be something we experience and pass on.
From our church family to yours, Merry Christmas. We look forward to welcoming you.
