M.A.Y.A.

M.A.Y.A. M.A.Y.A. is one of the most established and longest running Catholic youth groups in North Shore area.

It boasts around 15 members who meet regularly for fellowship, fundraising & fun. A Roman Catholic Youth group of the Maria Assumpta Parish in Beach Haven. The group was initiated by Grahame Russell, who was the founder of the group in 2005 which had 18 founding members. It continues strongly today with hosting Masses every fourth Sunday of every second month as well as having reular bible study s

essions and fundraising events. Part of the group's success is the fact that it is run entirely by it members with support of the parents and the Convenor for MAYA on the Parish Council. The makeup of the group today reflects the multicultural diversity of the Maria Assumpta Parish Community. It's finest achievement to date was the sending of a delegation to World Youth Day in Australia in 2008. Since then, things have been pacing slowly but nevertheless the youth group has been successfully running for over five years straight with four successive leadership regimes.
