🔸️🔸️THE FUTURE OF ST DAVID’S CHURCH, NORSEWOOD🔸️🔸️
It is with deep regret that Norsewood village might have to lose the last of its original 6 churches.
With our village church congregation having shrunk to single digits, the Presbyterian governing body have expressed their desire to sell it as it is no longer deemed a viable entity. The church will then be sold to the highest commercial or private bidder, as would happen in normal sales.
There are a few options left for Norsewood village, if any interest is expressed from our community before this happens.
The community have the opportunity to purchase the church and grounds on favourable terms if it was to become a community centre for all to use. A condition would be setting up an Incorporated Society. Non-denominational services, weddings, funerals etc. would continue alongside most non-religious community activities.
Is there anybody connected to our village, who might have historical or familial connections with St David’s, who would be interested in purchasing the church for this purpose and then renting it back to the community?
