Come along this Sunday as Kahui takes us into Ephesians 2, exploring faith, identity, culture, and what it means to follow Jesus as the person he created you to be.

It’s going to be a meaningful kōrero as we lean into what it looks like to be one in Him.

Fully Māori. Fully His.
There’s a tension a lot of us feel…
but not many of us talk about.
What does it actually look like
to walk in both culture and faith, fully?
Not watered down, or confused, but real.

This workshop has been developed through years of experience and opens up honest kōrero around

What it’s like coming from a strong cultural background into Faith

The struggles no one prepares you for

The questions people are too scared to ask

And how to walk in both, fully Māori, fully His

If you’ve ever wrestled with identity, faith, or trying to hold both, this is for you.

For churches, youth groups, and leaders wanting to understand and walk this space well, book us in.

Last week, Kahui had the privilege of speaking at Southern Easter Camp over two nights, in front of around 4000 people across, Easter weekend.

On Friday night, he invited the youth into his testimony, sharing from some of the darkest moments of his life. A place where he felt abandoned… not only by people, but even questioning where God was. He drew a powerful connection to Jesus on the cross, when He cried, “Father, why have you forsaken me?”
reminding everyone that even in our deepest pain, Jesus is not distant, he's been there too.

On Saturday night, he continued by unpacking the moment Jesus was pierced, where blood and water flowed from his side. He spoke on how the blood represents life, and the water represents cleansing, and how both point to what Jesus has done for us. The response across the night was powerful, with many young people leaning into that message.
We give all glory to God for what took place over the weekend.

If you would like to have Kahui come and speak at your church, youth group, event, or gathering, we would love to connect.

Morena e te iwi
At Whariki Ministries, we’re preparing for more ministry trips across Aotearoa, including our Black Sunday church services in Auckland, as we continue to share the love and hope of Jesus throughout the motu.

As many of you know, ministry is a calling, not a paid job. We give our time freely to serve our communities, and because of that, we often rely on the wider whānau to help make the mahi possible.

Right now, we're looking for orgs/individuals who might feel led to partner with us by sponsoring the petrol costs for our ministry van. This support would go directly towards helping us reach Aotearoa for Chirst.

If this is something that speaks to your heart, we’d love to hear from you. There’s no pressure, just an open invitation to stand with us as we serve the people of Aotearoa.

Nga mihi, The Whariki team.
