Awakenchurch.nz Awaken Church exists to awaken all people into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Our history in this city dates back to the mid 1920’s.

Whether you're exploring faith, new to the area, or looking for a church to call home, you'll find a place to belong. Although this church body has endured many generations, we continue to see God change lives, as we reach out to this community and beyond. For many years we were known as the New Plymouth Assembly of God church, however the name of the church was rebranded as citywestchurch in 2006

. We remain privileged to be active members of the Assemblies of God in New Zealand. citywestchurch is a growing and vibrant church, with a mandate to be a significant church in the city of New Plymouth, reaching people with the love of Christ, building and releasing them to be all that God intended them to be. We meet every Sunday with two services in the western suburb of Whaler’s Gate, New Plymouth. Our morning service has children’s programs available for ages 2 – 12.
