Today marks the beginning of New Zealand's Youth Week, which will conclude on Pentecost Sunday, 24 May 2026.

At the end of Youth Week, churches across the country—regardless of denomination—are invited to commemorate Sunday, 24 May, as National Youth Sunday and a National Day of Prayer for Youth.

In 2026, this coincides with Pentecost Sunday, a time when we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit bestowed upon the entire Church. It is an ideal occasion to pray specifically for our tamariki and rangatahi, asking that the Spirit strengthens them with hope, deepens their faith, and inspires them with the courage to speak, serve, and lead.

We invite you to keep all our young people in this parish in your prayers, especially this week. Remember them daily in your prayers, at Mass, and in your thoughts. May each of our young people have a personal encounter with Jesus.

This week we celebrate National Vocations Awareness Week, dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life.

Below is a video introducing our current diocesan seminarians — Sy Nguyen, Zecharia Mathew, Br Rodney Rebecca, Hung Nguyen, and Zung Manh Phan — who are discerning a call to the priesthood. We invite you to keep them in your prayers, along with all those in our diocese discerning or living vocations to ordained ministry and consecrated life.

To our young people: vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life are a beautiful and courageous option for your life. If you are considering a vocation, please speak with any of our diocesan priests.

To parents: if your child expresses an interest in a religious vocation, we encourage you to support them with openness, love, and prayer.

There will be an Adoration today at 11am, followed by Midday Mass.

The exhibition concludes at 3pm.

- Monday, 27 April, from after the 8:30am Mass until 5pm, and
- Tuesday, 28 April, from after 8:00am until 3pm.

Don't miss the special holy hour (Adoration) on Tuesday at 11am, followed by Midday Mass.

Take note:
On Sunday, 26 April, the exhibition will be in the Hall from after the 9am Mass until 1pm.

You are warmly invited to attend the Eucharistic Miracles Exhibition, inspired by the life and witness of St. Carlo Acutis, which will be visiting our area as part of a wider diocesan tour.

This Exhibition shares stories and images of Eucharistic miracles from around the world, gathered and presented by St. Carlo Acutis—a young Italian layman whose deep love for the Eucharist shaped his short but profoundly influential life. Through this Exhibition, visitors are invited to deepen their understanding of the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist and to renew their faith and devotion.

There is an opportunity for Adoration on Tuesday, 28 April, from 11pm to 12pm, followed by 12:05pm Mass at St. Joseph's Church
