Recently a scammer purporting to be a senior clergyman at the Cathedral has contacted people asking for money or gift cards. The emails appear credible. However we never ask for such things. If you have bought anything, please contact your bank to cancel payments immediately.

To reiterate:
Do not reply to an email if it seems suspicious.
Call or email the Office to check.
Do not buy anything or send any money to any bank account.
Do not give out any personal information, yours or anyone else’s.
Don’t act in a hurry. Scammers try to make you rush without thinking.
