Waiapu Anglican Cathedral of St John the Evangelist, Napier

Waiapu Anglican Cathedral of St John the Evangelist, Napier We are the Cathedral church for the Anglican Diocese of Waiapu, in Napier, New Zealand

13/09/2026

Today, in the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, we pray for The Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia and the Primates - the Most Revd Justin Duckworth, Bishop of Wellington; the Most Revd Don Tamihere, Pihopa o Tairāwhiti and Pihopa o Aotearoa; and the Most Revd Sione Uluilakepa, Bishop of Polynesia.

Let us pray for:

🙏 Shared life across the three tikanga – that Tikanga Māori, Tikanga Pākehā and Tikanga Pasifika may honour one another’s gifts and grow together in unity, equity and shared mission.

🙏 Care for the ocean and creation – for churches and communities responding to climate change across Aotearoa, New Zealand and the Pacific, and for initiatives combining Christian faith, Indigenous knowledge and environmental stewardship.

🙏 Young people – for young Anglicans growing in faith and leadership, particularly those raising their voices for climate justice, peace and the wellbeing of their communities.

🙏 Resilient communities – for Anglican ministries strengthening health, livelihoods, clean water, disaster preparedness and community wellbeing, particularly among Pacific communities facing the effects of climate change.

Amen.
