This is Elizabeth, the child our Engage Kids sponsor through Tear Fund.
Elizabeth is 6 years old and lives in Uganda with her mother, two brothers and grandparents. The money we send ensures that Elizabeth receives food, schooling, medical care and other opportunities.
Every week we take an offering for Elizabeth and pray for her.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our kids to reach out and bless another child.
When many give a little, Elizabeth's sponsorship is covered.
Some kids do a chore at home to earn money for Elizabeth - is this something that could work in your home?

Hot Chocolate Club starts back next week - Tuesday 9th or Wednesday 10th May, straight after school til 5pm.
These groups are for kids who want to go deeper with God through prayer, worship and Bible study.
Age 8+ including Intermediate age kids.

The worst stories from the flood are too heavy for the hearts of many children.
They don’t need to know everything!
Parents, this is a good site for helping you help your children after a natural disaster.

Some main points:
Control exposure to media and information.
Don't focus on the gruesome or tragic aspects of the experience. Talk about the services and people who are helping to make things better.
Reassure your child that they are loved, safe and cared for.
Stick to routines, including meal times and bedtimes as much as possible. This gives a sense of safety and security.
Try to do family-based activities - this will provide a sense of connectedness or togetherness.

When our kids return to school they may hear of deeper tragedy from other kids.
Be ready to help them process this.

Hot Chocolate Club is a place for kids who want to go deeper with God through prayer, worship, journaling and Bible study. Most kids who come LOVE this opportunity to take a PAUSE and draw close to the Lord. Their spiritual journey with God deepens as they take time to connect intentionally with Him through this time, gaining in both knowledge and encounter.
We have two groups running on either Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons, starting straight after school til 5pm.
Term One starts on the 14/15th February. $15 per term.
Age 8+ including Intermediates.
