Join the Housekeeping Team part-time at Tōtara Springs Christian Centre and help create the welcoming, comfortable environment that allows thousands of guests each year to experience camp, community, and God's love.

We're looking for a reliable and hard-working team member who takes pride in their work and enjoys serving others. In this role, you'll help prepare accommodation, maintain our facilities, and uphold the high standard of hospitality that Tōtara Springs is known for. Whether you're cleaning guest rooms, preparing for arriving groups, or helping keep our facilities looking their best, your work will play a vital part in creating memorable and life-changing experiences for our guests.

The project forms part of a wider vision to grow and strengthen the Centre for future generations, providing quality accommodation and creating more opportunities for ministry and connection.

Ever thought your love of cooking could be part of something bigger?

This year we're opening a brand-new spot on our Springs Internship team — a Catering Internship for someone who wants to learn the craft of hospitality while serving God and others in camp life.

You'll be right in the heart of our big commercial kitchen: preparing and serving meals for campers and guests, learning menu planning and food safety, keeping things running through busy camp weeks, and being part of a team that feeds hundreds of people with excellence and care.

And you won't just learn on the job — you'll study toward a nationally recognised qualification (the New Zealand Certificate through our partnership with ServiceIQ, with coaching from experienced team members every step of the way.

As part of the Springs Internship, you'll also:
- Grow in your walk with Jesus through weekly Bible study, mentoring and camp life
- Live on-site with meals and accommodation provided, plus a personal-expenses allowance
- Be sent and supported by your home church in prayer and partnership
- Come away with real skills, a qualification, and a year you'll never forget

This is a voluntary internship, not a paid job — but for the right person, it's a launchpad into a career in hospitality and a year of growing in faith.

You might be our person if you're: 18 or over, hungry to learn, hard-working, creative, and love serving people. (A Police/children's worker safety check applies.)

Applications are OPEN for our 2026–27 Springs Internship!

Imagine a year where you wake up surrounded by bush, river and mountains — and spend your days leading kids around a campfire, refereeing on a packed sports weekend, running activities on the water, and growing deeper in your walk with Jesus alongside people who become like family.

That's the Springs Internship.

For those 18 and over, this year-long, Christ-centred programme is designed to equip you for a life of ministry — wherever God calls you next. Over the year you'll:

- Get hands-on experience across our Ministry, Sports and Instructing teams
- Help organise and lead camps throughout the year
- Grow through weekly Biblical Studies, Leadership Development and mentoring
- Pick up real-world life skills — budgeting, cooking, CV writing, car maintenance and more

Accommodation and meals are provided, and you'll be discipled and supported every step of the way.

Three times across the year you'll head back to share what God's been doing, keeping your church connected to the journey. Tōtara Springs Christian Centre is seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our ministry team in a full-time role, leading and developing life-changing camp experiences.

In this role, you will help create Christ-centred environments where children, youth, and families can encounter God’s love in meaningful and lasting ways. You’ll take the lead in delivering high-quality programmes, with a focus on our school sports camps and holiday camps.

Eric's 50th camp at Totara, according to our records, here at the recent Medieval Kids Camp. One of our most beloved volunteers, known for his warm friendly presence with a ready smile, his memorable dress-up outfits for camp themes and his dedication to the kids and volunteering at camp so many times over the years, and a fav team player when he's been on summer staff. It always feels more homely when Eric is there. Big thanks for all you've done Eric, you're a star and an inspiration.
