***Due to the heavy rain warning and recent State of Emergency declared for the Wellington Region, CR will NOT meet tonight. The lesson will be posponed to next week.***

Tonight our lesson will look at ways to maximise the growth process of recovery and how to minimise the pain while looking at our pasts. We look to our past hurts to explain and understand our hang-ups and habits, but we don't stay there. There's healing found through the process.

Happy Monday! CR Official shared this image about a week ago. I'll put the message below. The key takeaway is that your past is part of your story, but it doesn't define you. A testimony at CR celebrates the journey from the past, through recovery, and how we find healing through the process with the help of our Higher Power.

You are worth more than your past.

Sometimes the hardest person to believe that about… is ourselves.

We look in the mirror and see our mistakes.
Our failures.
The things we wish we could undo.

But God sees something different.

He sees redemption.
He sees growth.
He sees a life being restored.

Your past may be part of your story…
but it is not your value.

In recovery, we begin to see ourselves the way God sees us—not broken beyond repair, but deeply loved and worth restoring.

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
Romans 8:1

Father God, help us to see ourselves the way You see us. Remove the lies we’ve believed about our worth and replace them with Your truth. Remind us that we are not defined by our past, but by Your love and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
