THROWBACK THURSDAY
On Father’s Day we were able to worship and glorify our Heavenly Father and celebrate the dads in the house. Hosanna is blessed with some amazing fathers and we can’t wait to see them and you this Sunday for worship, the Word and fellowship; we’re better together.

DAILY DEVOTION #13
In the last instalment of our POWER OF PRAYER series, Matthew Lau Young looks at Colossians 1:9-12. With potential heretical theologies and philosophies creeping into the Church in Colosse, Paul writes to correct these mistakes and to affirm the truth of Christ's divinity. In his prayer in this passage Paul encourages the Church to pursue the Father's will at all costs in order to see God's will come to fruition. We too must have that same drive and hunger to pursue the Father's will and that as we pray we say not our will but His!

DAILY DEVOTION #12
"For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."
Ephesians 3:14-21

This is the second of two prayers in the book of Ephesians. This prayer to the Church in Ephesus can be personalised. We can use it for ourselves, or for others.

Paul the apostle is reminding us that God promises His love and His power for His family, the body of Christ. Paul is stressing that if we are to receive God’s blessings then we must stay in fellowship with other believers in the body of Christ.

God’s love is unlimited and reaches into all areas of our life. For example: It is wide and covers the breadth of our own experiences as well as reaching out to the whole world. God’s love is long and continues throughout our life. It is high and reaches the heights of our celebrations. God’s love is deep and reaches the depths of discouragement and despair. When you feel isolated and alone, remember that you are never lost to God’s love.

To be filled with the fullness of God is to be in union with Christ and empowered by His Spirit. We are complete in Him!!!! God’s fulness is available to us through faith and prayer as we live daily for Him.

The Holy Spirit desires to fill every area of your life to the fullest!

When God has given us exceeding and abundant blessings; we may still ask for more. And God is able to do it. But we may think of more than we have asked. God is able to do this also. Yes, and above all this. Above all we ask - Above all we can think. Yes, exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can either ask or think. God is amazing and He is showing us through this prayer that not only is He able, God is willing to meet every need. Amen!!

God bless you,

DAILY DEVOTION #11
"Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."
Hebrews 4:16

We have a great high priest in heaven and his name is Jesus. He can feel when we are weak and hurting. He has been tempted in every way just as we are. But he didn't sin.

It's because Jesus is the one holding office that we have no reason to be ashamed or be afraid to approach God's throne of grace. The one who made a way for us knows exactly what you're going through and what you're feeling.

So let us come before God and ask for help. When we do we will receive his mercy and grace which will be there at just the right time.

DAILY DEVOTION #9
"And having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one."
Ephesians 6:15-16

As it is written beloved we must clothe ourselves daily with the armor of God from head to toe as we head into a very trying and challenging world. If we make it part of our daily routine we will be able to withstand the arrows and attacks of the evil one so we can be victorious with the Lord on our side.

DAILY DEVOTION #8
“So put on God's armour now! Then when the evil day comes, you will be able to resist the enemy's attacks; and after fighting to the end, you will still hold your ground. So stand ready, with truth as a belt tight round your waist, with righteousness as your breastplate,”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:13-14‬ ‭GNB‬‬

When you go into a fight you would always want to be prepared or be ready. No ones wants to be at a disadvantage or go into a fight or battle to lose. We all have our own battles daily that challenge us, test our character and our faith in God. The Bible tells us that the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy...But thank God that he will always protect His children. He says put on His armour cause He knows we would be attacked. The devil will do anything to stop you from living in your calling. We know that God has a plan and purpose for all of us and the last thing the devil needs is for us to know, live and fulfil that purpose. God has empowered us with His armour if we decide to wear it...you see it is up to us to put it on. God ain’t gonna put it on us. Just like it’s a choice to fight, it’s also a choice to be ready and be prepared and not be beaten up by the lies of the enemy. And when you decide to put on the armour God has provided, you will overcome and you will stand and hold your ground. Don’t let the enemy gain ground in your house, at your home, at work, in your mind. But put on and use Gods armour so that you can fight, resist and stand your ground...then the day will come when you say...

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4:7-8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

DAILY DEVOTION #7
"But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you"
Matthew 5:44

Why should we love our enemies? Why should we pray for someone that has caused us grief and heartache?

We believe if you pray for someone that has wronged you, God will help you to see that person the way He sees them, rather than the way you see them. We often think that if we don't feel loved by someone then we don't have to show love to them but God didn't wait for us to start loving Him, He started loving us before we even knew Him! What a wonderful Father we serve.

Loving someone who has hurt you or made you upset is not easy, we encourage you to ask God to help you and give you strength to forgive and overcome this so you can start loving and praying for those who have disappointed you.

Loving and praying for your enemies can be a powerful witnessing tool. What better way to make our blessed Lord famous than by doing something so totally different like loving our enemies. Displaying this beautiful Christ-like love in today's often hate-filled world will make people take notice.

Love the individual who does the evil deed while hating the deed. Bless them that curse you, pray for them, that your loving kindness shows redeeming power to transform them. Show love to build up and not hate to tear down, keep loving them as God already has.
