🙏 Anointing Mass – Friday 14 August 🙏

There is an Anointing Mass this Friday, 14 August at 12:10pm at St Joseph’s Church.

This Mass is especially for anyone who would like to receive the Sacrament of Anointing, whether seeking healing, strength, comfort, or God’s grace during a time of illness or difficulty.

Everyone is welcome to attend and receive this beautiful sacrament. ❤️

📢 PARISH UPDATE – NEXT WEEK

Our priests will be away in Wellington next week attending Clergy Week.

As a result, our usual Masses from Tuesday to Friday will be replaced with a Liturgy of the Word with Holy Communion at the following times:

🕊️ Tuesday: 9:30am
🕊️ Wednesday: 9:30am only – there will be no Wednesday evening Liturgy
🕊️ Thursday: 9:30am
🕊️ Friday: 12:10pm

🙏 Confession: There will be no Confession on Wednesday or Friday.

✝️ Friday Exposition: Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will still be held on Friday, beginning at 11:00am, before the Liturgy.

Sun, sea and the Holy Spirit! 🌊

Our guests had a wonderful time at their Alpha Day retreat last Saturday. We started with goody bags, games and worship before diving into our videos, spending time in personal reflection, and connecting over treats (thank you Doug for the fancy coffees!) ☕️💯

Each guest had a chance to encounter the love of the Holy Spirit through prayer before the day ended - the perfect end to a fantastic day 🔥

A huge thanks to our parish, fabulous Alpha Team, and friends at the Catholic Enquiry NZ and Waitarere Beach Surf Club for generously supporting this retreat! 🫶🏼

Virgin Mary, Most Holy Mother, I place myself today beneath your mantle and ask for your intercession against every evil that tries to draw near my life.
Protect me from hidden intentions, from false words, from eyes of envy, and from everything born of human malice. Guard my heart so that I do not answer evil with evil, nor allow bitterness to take hold of me.
Mary, go before everything I cannot see. Drive away from me the traps, the falsehoods, the unjust persecutions, and every presence that steals the peace of my home, my work, and my family.
Let no word spoken against me have power. Let no envy find space. Let no malice succeed in turning my steps away from the path of God.
Most Holy Mother, cover my life with your maternal mantle. Guard my thoughts, my decisions, my plans, and those I love. Where there is darkness, may the light of Christ prevail. Where there is lies, may the truth appear. Where there is malice, may the grace of God be stronger.

Week 2 of Alpha and we are up and running 🔥

It was so great to have our Alpha guests back on Thursday and to see some new faces! This week we looked at the historical evidence for Jesus’ existence and asked ourselves, if we could ask Jesus one question, what would it be? 💬

📣 Parish & School Community Consultation – Future of the Presbytery

We invite our parish and school community to share feedback as we consider the future of the presbytery and explore the next steps for this important property.

The consultation period will run from Thursday 21 May until Sunday 7 June.

Information about the proposal, including the consultation document, statement from our Finance Chair, and online feedback form, can be found on the homepage of our St Joseph’s Parish Levin website: https://www.stjosephlevin.com/

Paper feedback forms will also be available at Mass this weekend and can be placed in the suggestion box at the back of the church.

If you would like to discuss the project further, Parish Finance Chairperson Harry Bennik and Parish Council Chairperson Suzie Blatch will be available after Mass this Sunday and the following Sunday. They would be very happy to answer questions and have a friendly conversation with parishioners.
