ASH WEDNESDAY AT THE CHURCH | 18 Feb at 12 noon
On behalf of the Church of the Good Shepherd, I am wanting to extend a warm invitation to all who would like to take part in a traditional service of spiritual preparation for the Christian season of Lent.
We will be hosting a special Ash Wednesday service, next Wednesday, 18th February, 12pm at the Church of the Good Shepherd.
This service marks the beginning of Lent, which is the significant forty-day period in the Christian calendar finishing on Easter Sunday. This is traditionally observed as a season of repentance, reflection, and preparation for the celebration of Easter and ultimately the joy and hope of Easter morning.
If you have not participated in a service like this, as part of our time together, worshippers will be invited to receive ashes on their foreheads, a sign of humility and repentance, as we all reflect on our mortality and need for forgiveness. The service will also include the regular elements of prayer, themed Scripture readings, and worship with appropriate songs.
If this sounds like it might be a meaningful way to engage with your faith at this time, we look forward to seeing you at this special service.
Blessings, Craig (Rev Craig Allan)
