She was actively invovled in the life of the parish from teaching Sunday School in her early year to leading house groups, leading worship and was a member of the Local Shared Ministry Team, when the parish could no longer afford a stipended vicar and went into Local Shared Ministy in 2005. She was also active in ministry in the wider community and was actively involved in Women's Aglow, Sam's place, Maggie's Op Shop, the KMA Foodbank and at one time ran a Christian Bookshop, called The Makers from the old Kawerau Bus Depot, now the Kawerau Information Centre.
Bev was born on 11th November 1937 in Nuhaka and died on 11th March, 2027 in Devonport, Auckland, aged 88. When Bev and Ian married she came to Kawerau where they spent most of their life, before moving to Devonport three years ago. Bev and Ian were married for 66 years, until Ian's death in December, 2025.
Bev was the cherished mother of David & Pam, Natalie, Hamish & Jo. Treasured grandmother of Natalie& Clifford, Matthew & Holly, Daniel & Rachel, Nicholas & Holly, Anna & Benoit, Elle (deceased), Sharaya & Elliot, Eli & Alexia, Caleb, Holly, Amos & Violet.
