In Nayakot District, where there is massive destruction (above picture), many AG Churches and members are affected. It is where the AG General Superintendent Rev. Selbong Tamang’s Trishuli AG church is located, and according to a report from AG Nepal:

“Approximately 200 individuals are currently taking shelter at Trishuli AG church. The church is doing its best to provide them with food and accommodation during this difficult time. Some people are taking shelter in National Bethel School.
According to Pastor Selbon, nearly 1,300 AG believers have been affected by the situation, and a similar number from other denominations are likely impacted as well. Communication in the area remains limited. Electricity supply is partial, though a relief system has been put in place to support those in need.
12 homes belonging to Trishuli AG Church believers have been destroyed. Around 6-8 Believers are also missing, and one relative of the pastor’s wife also died in the flood. At this time, it appears that no church buildings in the Trishuli area have been destroyed.”
Pastor Selbon has requested prayer for the situation.

Please Pray:
Pray that God will bring comfort to those suffering and in pain.
Please pray for the families of those who have lost their lives.
Pray for the families of many whose members are missing.
Pray for God’s provision and favor as AG Nepal and many other agencies are working to bring relief.
Pray that hope will come through during this darkest hour.

Dear Pastors, Leaders, and Churches of the Assemblies of God in New Zealand,

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Many of us have seen and heard the devastating news of the catastrophic flash floods and landslides that have struck Nepal. The disaster has caused widespread destruction and tragic loss of life throughout the Lhende Khola and Trishuli river valleys, severely affecting communities in the Rasuwa and downstream Nuwakot districts.

Homes, villages, roads, bridges, and essential infrastructure have been destroyed. Many people have lost loved ones, many remain missing, and families have been displaced and left in urgent need of shelter, food, clean water, medical assistance, and other essential supplies.

Firstly – A loud call for all our churches to unite in prayer.

· For those who have lost family members and loved ones.

· For the safe recovery of those who remain missing.

· For people who have been injured, displaced, or traumatised.

· For rescue workers, medical teams, churches, and community leaders responding to the disaster.

· For food, clean water, shelter, medical care, and essential supplies to reach affected communities quickly.

· For the restoration and rebuilding of homes, churches, communities, and livelihoods.

· For God’s comfort, peace, and hope to fill the hearts of the people of Nepal.

“The LORD is near to the broken-hearted, and saves the crushed in spirit.” Ps 34:18

Secondly we are asking please give generously.

We invite every AGNZ church and every person who is able to prayerfully consider making a generous contribution towards the Nepal Disaster Relief Appeal.

“So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith.” Galatians 6:10 (NRSV)

“Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.” — 1 John 3:18 (NRSV)

Our generosity is a practical expression of the love of Christ. Together, our churches can bring hope and meaningful assistance to families facing unimaginable loss.

Thank you for standing in prayer and partnership with the people of Nepal and with our Assemblies of God family.

May the Lord bless every church and every person who prays, gives, and responds with compassion. Please give to the following:
