Judges 6:15
Gideon replied, “But Lord, how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least important member of my family.”
Gideon’s response reveals a battle that was deeper than the Midianite oppression—it was the battle within his own heart.
When God called him a mighty warrior, Gideon could only see weakness.
The enemy had not only invaded Israel’s land; he had invaded their identity.
Notice Gideon’s words:
• “My clan is the weakest.”
• “I am the least important.”
Everything Gideon said was based on natural facts.
Many believers know God’s promises but still think according to their past wounds, failures, and limitations. God sees what He created them to be, while they see what circumstances have made them feel they are.
Sometimes we ask God to remove the enemy while He is first asking us to remove the idols, distractions, or compromises that have taken His place.
When God calls a person, He does not ignore their weakness. He overcomes it with His presence.
Your weakness is not God’s obstacle. Your agreement with that weakness is.
The moment Gideon began to believe what God said about him, the man hiding in a winepress became the leader who delivered Israel.
Blessed day
