You might have imagined that a move to Covid-19 Alert Level 2 would mean resuming Sunday Morning Worship Services at the church this coming Sunday, September 12th.

I had originally planned to be away and for someone else to lead the service but under the circumstances that is neither practical nor fair. So, we will have one more Sunday Morning Devotion Live on Facebook on Sunday at 10 AM. I am confident that I can manage that from elsewhere in the country.

We expect to resume Sunday Morning Worship at the church on September 19th.

We are also planning to hold the Annual Congregational Meeting, which was postponed as a result of the lockdown, after the Sunday Worship Service on September 26th.

Warm regards,

Tony Dawson

Good evening friends and followers.

We've been here before, finding ourselves in a Covid-19 Level 4 lockdown.

There are two things I'd like to share with you.

The first is fairly obvious; there won't be a worship service at Richmond Grove Church on Sunday morning.

The second is that I am planning to provide a service of sorts on for you on Sunday morning. It will be a Facebook Live event commencing at 10 am, much the same as was provided last year under lockdown.

See you on Sunday morning, take care.

Tony.

Keep Claire in your prayers...

My first daffodil of the season has finally popped out! We have had the most beautiful weekend weather wise, sunny and warm days. It's finally starting to feel like winter is behind us. There was talk of getting sea level snow this weekend and being hammered by a storm, but absolutely none of that in sight! Yay!

Lately I have been really down, struggling alot with dialysis. I started Fridays session by just sobbing and sobbing because I really didn't want to do it. But it's not exactly something that's super flexible. Either you do it and live, or you stop doing it and you die. To put it bluntly.

Thankfully Hamish was home yesterday afternoon so we went for a drive out to Lyttelton port to check out some ships. We hit the jackpot too! Port was full with one leaving 🤓

After Fridays average session I decided to take the weekend off dialysis. I can do two day breaks, but any longer is very dangerous because toxins and fluid build up. I have been doing a short Sunday afternoon session for the last few weeks. But this weekend I just couldn't face it.

It has been the best decision though. This morning I went to the markets with a friend where we just talked and talked and sat in the sun. I also bought a plant 🤫 then I came home and did some much needed gardening. For the first time in ages I have felt calm. Semi normal. Content.

I am now shattered, but sometimes it's more important to take care of your mental health side because when that isn't good, nothing seems doable and ok. It's so important that we look after ourselves in every aspect. Even is that means just sitting in the sun doing nothing 💚

This evening at our Leadership Team meeting I gave notice of the impending "re imagining" of what church may look for us as we begin to move forward again after God 'stopped the world' for us. Below is an example of this already happening within PCANZ.

We will be back in the church on Sunday May 31st, 2020 for 'Gathered Worship'. On Friday the PCANZ released a new set of guidelines for interpreting the Covid-19 Level 2 protocols as they relate to 'Faith Based Gatherings". The document is included here. See you on Sunday.
