We’ve had many prophetic words shared in recent times about revival, and we want to be on the front foot. When we’re talking about revival, we’re talking about seeing people encounter Jesus, come to faith, grow as disciples and see our community transformed. Let’s prepare ourselves to see young people seeking the Lord and hungry for relationship in Him.
Our long-term is starting to be rolled out, with discipleship at its core, reflecting Activates values: Belonging, Big-Hearted, Courageous, Kingdom-Focussed, and Purposed.
Deep faith requires deep roots. The Underground focuses on self-discipleship, personal accountability, and standing firm on Christ as your cornerstone. It looks like personal quiet times, one-on-one mentor check-ins, and dedicated “Wise Counsel” nights— panel evenings and open Q&A dialogue with mature leaders who have walked through life’s trials with the Lord and have some wisdom to share with you!
This is the space where we encourage you to spend time with your Creator daily, to seek His will for your life, and to know Him more intimately.
Meeting with God - encountering the Living Waters. The Well is the place to encounter God, receive his grace, pursue him and abide in his presence. This reflection will look like prayer and worships nights, prayer walks, and individual Sozo ministry sessions. It also links in with The Underground – a well, after all, is dug into the ground.
Like trees planted by the water, humans thrive when we are rooted together. The Grove is the place to share life, build genuine friendships and celebrate one another. This will look like fun events such as games, quiz or movie nights, and group hangs that happen during the week that we will advertise on our social media. It’s about walking through life together.
Forge Activate Groups are a place to connect in a small group to study scripture and champion one another on in faith. It is also where you learn to delve deep in the Word to get as much out of it as possible and provides opportunities for you to practice leading a study. Each group will be led by two “hosts”, young adults who have been trained to facilitate and champion the group. Groups will have 8-12 people in them and be groups of mixed young adults. Think of it like mitosis + cell growth – cells die if they don’t multiply. The idea of these groups is to study the Bible, champion each other, and take turns at leading the discussion using resources provided to you. These groups will increase and replant, so that we are ready to grow. The plan is for these groups to begin early next year. This allows for everyone to finish this year with their current groups. It also allows time for our hosts to receive all the resources they need to champion their groups well.
The Inferno is designed to challenge your thinking and ignite your love for Jesus through sound teaching and passionate community. This will look like nights with guest speakers, combined nights, and includes our Sunday gatherings.
The Outpouring is the place to walk the walk, showing others the light of Jesus - Wherever, whenever, be like Jesus. Activates heart is for “Activating Community Transformation”, and The Outpouring is our Young Adult’s reflection of this. For us, this looks like serving on a team at Activate, participating in the Red Frog’s mission, and missions trips. Some other examples are serving at Light Party, mentoring a younger person, and being a light in your workplace or study space.
These reflections are purposefully designed to help you live a faith-filled life. It has been created with the future in mind - we are preparing spaces, opportunities, and leaders now, for the revival that is starting. We want to become a generation of young adults who know Jesus deeply, belong genuinely, grow together, discover their God-given gifts and live their faith wherever God has placed them.
