A unique camping opportunity located just 1.5 km west of the NZ Temple, with beautiful Temple, Lake and Bush and farmland views. The 42-acre site has a heavily forested centre with a wide variety of native trees and se

veral shady trails and resting areas. Camp Tuhikaramea is a private recreational camp for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Booking priority extended to Rising Generation camps and temple stays for Stakes and Wards first. Secondly, followed by YSA, SA, RS, EQ, and Primary organizations. Sabbath Day observance is adhered with no breaking/setting up. Private requests from our general LDS membership require hirer (point of contact) to provide their MRN for events including Temple Patron Stays and Family Reunions. Private Request stays are available from Tuesdays - Saturdays only. All who come and stay, shall provide service within the campground, such as maintaining trails, cleaning, propagation, creating social media content, sewing, product organization, and mowing. There are two small lakes on the east side, as well as a spring with small ponds in the bush. This is a beautiful place to learn life skills, enrich friendships, build self-esteem, strengthen testimonies and feel at peace with our Heavenly Fatherโ€™s spirit. Facilities include two open Pavilions - King Benjamin Pavilion and Captain Moroni Pavilion, cabins, kitchens, and ablution blocks. King Benjamin, with unobstructed views of the Temple and surrounding farmlands is a gorgeous backdrop for weddings, devotionals, and culture nights. Captain Moroni Pavilion, nestled within the native bush, is an easy walk to and from the cabins. Camp Nephi + Camp Alma are a 4-cabin sites. Whereas, Camp Abish + Camp Helaman are 2-cabin sites. Each Camp has a communal kitchen for cooking and dining space accommodating between 30-40 persons. From the east, guests can pitch tents with views of the Hamilton NZ Temple. Camps Mosiah, Sariah, Gideon, and Ammon share an Ablution Block. As part of their camp experience, youth and their leaders will be able to visit the Hamilton NZ Temple, the Matthew Cowley Pacific Church History centre, just 2 km to the south west, and a 75 minute drive north to the Auckland NZ Temple.
