Happy Matariki Whanau!! We hope you had a reflective day and great time with your family enjoying a day off. We will be having our service this Sunday, Rukumoana Marae at 10am followed by Kaitahi Tatau.
The Bible has a couple of references to Matariki also known as Pleiades.
Job 9:9
“He is the Maker of the Bear and Orion, the Pleiades and the constellations of the south.”
Job 38:31
“Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades or loosen the belt of Orion?”
In this passage, God is speaking to Job, reminding him that only God has the power to govern the heavens and the stars.
Amos 5:8
“He who made the Pleiades and Orion, who turns darkness into dawn and darkens day into night—the LORD is His name."
The references to the Pleiades are not primarily about astronomy; they are about God's greatness. The stars are used to show: God is the Creator of the heavens and the earth.
God is sovereign over the universe and its order.
Humans are limited, but God's wisdom and power are without limit.
The beauty of the night sky should inspire wonder, worship, and trust in God.
Another beautiful verse about the stars is:
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” (Psalm 19:1)
For a person of faith, looking at the stars is a reminder that the same God who placed them in the sky knows each one by name, and knows each of us as well (Isaiah 40:26).
When you stand under the night sky in Morrinsville and see the stars shining above, Scripture invites us to remember that the God who created the vastness of the heavens is also near to us, cares for us, and holds our lives in His hands. ✨🙏
We look forward to seeing all those who can make Hahi this week. We will also stream the service live on Facebook. Bless you Hahi o Ngati Werewere! 🙏🏼🌸🩵

Happy Saturday Hahi Whanau. There will be NO service this weekend due to Taikura aa ahauaa performing at Te Papa in Wellington this weekend for Matariki. No doubt they will make an awesome stand for our Iwi.
We will be back at Rukumoana Marae next weekend for Hahi.
Romans 12:4-5
Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. We value your contribution to our Hahi. Lord bless you, this coming week with joy, strength and peace.

Kia Ora Hahi, we have a jam packed weekend!! This week's Hahi will be at Kai a te Mata Marae for a combined service with the Mihinari Hahi to commemorate Wiremu Tamihana's baptism, 9.30am. I have attached the Pānui for the service. There will be NO live facebook feed this week

For those of you who are keen to watch the Chiefs take on the Hurricanes in the Super rugby final, we will be screening the game at KTM (Kai a te Mata) Marae. Come and joins us on Saturday night at 6.30pm. Bring some snacks to eat during the game.

Galatians 3:26-27 NLT
For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. [27] And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.
May your faith grew in Jesus this week, as we put on extra layers to keep us warm through winter, let us also put on extra layers of faith through spending time in the Word (Bible) and conversation (prayer) with our Lord. Blessings on you and your Whanau. Tawhe, Rose, Paul and Kym.
