Christmas Eve service

The veneered surfaces of the trestle tables in the church hall had become scuffed and needed revarnishing. Manually sanding down the table tops to prepare them would have been an enormous task, and we are very grateful to Coastwood Furniture (a Greymouth business), who made available their commercial belt-sanding facilities to do the work. But wait- there’s more! One of our parishioners works at Coastwood and had asked Coastwood for this favour, expecting to need to do the work himself. However, Coastwood also donated the labour of their most expert sanding craftsman to do the work, and the table tops were perfectly prepared, ready for varnishing.

That work has now been completed and the tables re-assembled, and the photograph shows the outstanding result. Grateful thanks, therefore, to Coastwood!

The Christmas Tree Festival opens on Sunday night at 5pm to 9pm. It is always such a beautiful festival and well worth going to. Help Needed: We will be setting up the Christmas Trees at 1pm on Sun and would love any help we can get. Its not a difficult job, but the more people we have putting them together the quicker they will be done. Many hands really do make light work.
