Ever wondered what a Sabbath at Gore SDA Church looks like?
Our morning begins with a uplifting song service, followed by a short Bible reading and mission story. After that, we move into Sabbath School, a relaxed and interactive time of Bible study and discussion. We have classes for adults, youth, and children, all focused on learning practical lessons from the Bible and how they apply to everyday life.
For our younger ones, Sabbath School also includes crafts and activities that make learning fun and engaging.
At 10:45am we have a short break, a chance to grab a drink, stretch your legs, use the bathroom, or enjoy a friendly conversation with your Gore church family.
We then continue into our Divine Service, where we come together for worship through prayer, music, and a Bible-based message, usually presented by one of our church elders. Our desire is always to share encouraging truths straight from God’s Word.
After the service, everyone is invited to stay for a shared potluck lunch of delicious vegetarian and/or plant-based food.
If you haven’t guessed already, we love spending the Sabbath together, enjoying fellowship, meaningful conversations, and growing closer to our Creator God as one big family.
Following lunch, for the adults we have a cosy afternoon study group. At the moment, we’re reading through The Desire of Ages, a beautiful book on the life and ministry of Jesus that gives such a vivid picture of His love, compassion, and character. And for the young ones there’s Adventures and Pathfinders, they are christian programs similar to scouts or girl guides.
And don’t worry — you don’t have to stay for the whole day if that feels overwhelming. If you’re new to church and just want to dip your toes in, feel free to come along for whichever part interests you most. We’d simply love to meet you and help you feel welcome.
We also run a Wednesday night Bible study at 7pm, and on Friday evenings we welcome in the Sabbath together at one of our members’ homes.
If you’d like more information about anything, don’t hesitate to send us a message!
