Holy Saturday is important, as we acknowledge all that we’ve lost, and face our doubts and our disappointments. We may want to rush past this day, to “fix” others who are waiting in it, to offer trite answers to ease the pain. But this day isn’t one for platitudes or quick solutions. It’s necessary to sit with the questions as we process and heal.

Sunday is coming. Redemption is near.

But we can sit in the feelings of Saturday. We can lament and mourn our lost hopes, our griefs. We wait, and we trust that God will come through.

Friday is Good because Sunday is coming.

But on Saturday, we remember the waiting. The shock and despair of what happened at Calvary. The finality of a sealed and guarded tomb. The disbelief.

And yet, we hope in God and His goodness, that He triumphs over darkness even when we cannot see a way forward.

Today, we wait.

If you aren't already following Baptist NZ you might have missed this article posted today. With Advent rapidly approaching, we're looking forward to observing this season of expectant anticipation together again this year.

Two years ago at Fielding Baptist Church we were looking for a fresh angle for Advent. It was time for a change and to bring in some new ideas. Advent is a season within the traditional church year that can help us focus on the expectant waiting and preparation for both the celebration of the birth....

Normally at this time of year members of our congregation would be busy supporting Central Easter Camp set up Manfeild, but sadly camp was cancelled this year due to Covid 19 restrictions.

However, the team at Northern Easter Camp have put together a number of online talks for Easter - and not just for youth! Check them out at the link below.

We had an amazing lineup of speakers locked in to share with us at EC22 and have reimagine dhow their messages can be communicated in a fresh and exciting way. We have filmed their talks in studios, on beaches and on hills, crafting them to be viewed in your context over Easter. Download and enjoy!

The Feilding churches have arranged a Good Friday walk. This will be a time to be together outdoors, to remember Jesus’ death and what that means for us.

Groups will be lead from Highfield Road lookout at 9:30am, 10am and 10:30am on Friday 15th April.

At each stop there is a reading from the Gospel of Mark, a prayer for Feilding, finishing with Communion at the Feilding Bible Chapel.
