Congregational Meeting & Forum, 31 May
Following this Sunday's morning service, 31 May, there will be a congregational meeting to discuss the following motion from the Knox Church Council: That Nathan Woodfield be ordained and inducted as a Deacon, and Judith Brown be inducted as an Elder. Nathan and Judith's bios are attached, paper copies will be available on Sunday morning.
The Church Council and Deacons Court also thought it would be a good opportunity to have a brief congregational forum, in which updates will be given on their work, including several capital projects.

Ministry Settlement Board (MSB)
The process of seeking a new minister or ministry team is the responsibility of the Southern Presbytery, which will oversee this through the appointment of a Ministry Settlement Board (MSB). The MSB will be convened by a Presbytery representative and will include six members or associate members of Knox Church. Four of these representatives will be elected by the congregation, while the remaining two will be appointed by the Church Council.
While the work of the MSB is confidential, progress reports will be given to the congregation from time to time.
Church appointees to the MSB should, as far as possible, reflect the diversity of our faith community. This includes consideration of age, gender, length of involvement at Knox, parents of young children, young adult participation, understanding of how Knox operates, and active involvement in the life of the congregation.
Nomination forms are available from the Council Clerk, either in hard copy or by email. Completed forms, together with a short biographical statement, should be returned to the Council Clerk no later than Wednesday 3 June 2026.
A congregational meeting will be held on a date yet to be advised to elect the four Knox representatives to the MSB. This meeting will be moderated by the Convenor of the MSB, or their nominee. Alison Tait (Council Clerk)

Temporary Pet Home Help Request - Knox members visiting Neil George in hospital report he is now in a likely 3-month rehabilitation after his lower-limb amputation. Over this period Neil has asked if anyone is in the position of hosting his miniature dachshund 'Ed'? Ed is well known for his friendly manner. Enquiries or offers to the Church Office.

Support our young singers!
Over this weekend (22-23-24 May), some of our choristers will be singing in SONGfest'26!, a junior singing festival here in Ōtepoti Dunedin. Alexa Choi, Mila and Billie Hinch, Rishi Shantapriyan, and former chorister Max Smith will all be singing in a variety of different styles, from classical to duets to musical theatre.
I've had the happy privilege of helping to organise SONGfest'26! and I know what a delight it is to hear young people sing and see them develop into confident performers. It would be wonderful to have as many of our Knox whānau on hand as possible and be part of a supportive audience.
What: SONGfest'26! | When: Friday, Saturday and Sunday May 22-23 -24 | Where: Castle 1 Lecture Theatre, University of Otago, 75 Albany Street | Admission: FREE
Time: Friday: 6pm to 9pm Friday (including our Waiata Showcase) | Saturday: 9am to 9pm | Sunday: 9am to 3pm.
