We’re delighted to be hosting the launch of Molly’s novel tonight!
A criminally good book has just hit the streets of Dunedin 📚✍️✨
Otago kaimahi and alumna Molly Crighton earned a rare 100% grade on a short story she wrote for a crime fiction paper. She then turned that story into a novel, The Body and the Blood, set here in Ōtepoti at the beautiful St Paul’s Cathedral ⛪️
“I never had any interest in crime fiction novels as a teenager or young adult,” Molly says.
“However, in my second year of Uni I took Professor Liam McIlvanney’s Scottish crime fiction paper and realised I’d actually been cutting myself off from a fun, fascinating genre full of experimentation, subversion, ethical quandaries – and good old bloody murder, of course.”
The launch of The Body and the Blood is being held tomorrow night at St Paul's, 6pm – all welcome 💛
